how do you compare a talls worth to a mids. or a defenders to a mids or forward to a mids.
clearly the best player from the 2005 draft is pendulbury. but how do we even rate a mids worth.
guys like priddis, jones, swallow, who may lack a bit of polish but have few peers when it comes to getting their hands on the ball both inside and out. all of em have great defensive games as well.
where do you place a bloke like heath hocking whos primary job is to defend a player and then get the ball. he does both really well.
where do you place dale thomas. until two seasons a go and a dodgy ankle he was right up there do we allow for injury.
one or two more points. give or take a player as im not 100% whos been cut this yr. there is only 27 players of 66 live nd picks remaining on lists from this draft.
this draft after 8 yrs is running at 40% retention rate.
the rookie draft after 8 yrs is running at 14.5% retention rate or roughly just one in 7 making it.
for me
best mid - pendulbury
best kpf - kennedy
best sml/med forward- betts
best ruckman - warnock
best kpd - carlisle
best running defender - birchall
best defensive mid - hocking.
