Our first match is against the Pies at TD, and the winner then has to play the winner of West Coast V Fremantle.

How will we go in the Wizard Cup?

If we were to win it, would that be enough satisfaction for the rest of the year? Or will supporters then be expecting us to win the flag?

Personally, i am hoping we can show a bit in the wizard cup. It will be TW's first coaching appearance, so the boys will want to show their worthiness, and he will want to get off to a good start. No doubt about it.

We made the GF in 2002, so there is no reason to suggest we can't get there. It is merely just a matter of winning 3 in a row, which isn't impossible.

Thoughts???

The wizard cup is a waste of time but i reckon Terry will take it seriously. He'll want to establish "the new Richmond" and the pre season cup is an easy way to do it.

I get the feeling Richmond and Hawthorn will be the teams that have the hardest summers, training wise.

I agree that the Wizard Cup is a waste of time, but my point was exactly along the same lines as evo's.

TW will be trying to get the boys conditioned to his style of coaching, whilst also priming them for a big 05 season. That is why i think the '05 Wizard Cup will hold some significance for us.

the sooner footy comes the better...... even if it is only the wizard cup......at least we get to see our new draftees play footy at a higher level!

who sed? we often do well without richo...... ne way, we are rebuilding so dont expect to much early on!

Didn't Richo forgo the Wizard Cup games last reason for basically that exact reason, so he doesn't do himself him in for Round 1??

BTW Wizard Cup is not a waste of time, it gives supporters there much-needed footy fix, and being able to see their rookie listed/drafted players play is also a bit of a thrill.

yeah right on I look forward to the Wizard cup every year not just because i work at the footy. Its good to see the new players play and the young kids. I can already tell you now they will get a good crowd to Telstra Dome for Richmond vs Collingwood. Wish people would leave this comp alone its good for many reasons and if stupid people can not see it is worth the 4 weeks or so it goes for. How much we miss footy, I go to 3-5 games a week and now nothing? Bring on the Wizard cup
