This was my understanding, though it sounds like Footscray's might be a touch different.

Mero wasn't the St kilda one meant to be like this? im not trying to be a smartass I got told it was.

Apparently that was the one the members wanted & voted for.
And I was told the same thing.

However... you'll find when all is said and done, StKilda will be wearing the one I've done above.

Apart from West Coast's, Freo's, Sydney's and Collingwood's they are Absolutely F***ing terrible... all of them!!!!! :thumbsd:

Who are these corporate nitwits who are ruining our game with their ridiculous arty rubbish? Are they the same clowns who are ruining our cities with their ugly filth that passes for buildings?

Disgraceful :thumbsd: :thumbsd: :thumbsd:

Clash jumpers are a joke...not surprising that there's so many awful jumpers there.

I like Melbourne's, Freo's, St Kilda's would be good if the logo wasn't faded, Carlton's and the Roo's is OK too. Essendon's is hilarious, I can't wait to see them in it, especially the red shorts ;) Port's is uh, interesting too..

Fitzroy Ansett Cup strip circa 1996 called, it wants it's barber shop design back.

Surely St Kilda, with such a striking logo to work with, would have come up with something better than this?

Fitzroy?

ANSETT??

:D

I believe that did occur during a St Kilda v Essendon sometime over the past two years, as the commentators pointed it out at the time.

An Essendon player handballed to a Richmond player in a match vs St Kilda

Sorry, couldnt help it

Fitzroy?

ANSETT??

:D
I changed the file.
Initially StKilda's jumper was expected to be the one the supporters voted for on the website.
However, the information coming out today seems to indicate they went for the one the club wanted all along.

The one they voted for was the one with chevrons down the sides, and logo in the middle. The chevrons looked like the 1995 Fitzroy jumper.

When I saw the other one (Red and White stripes on Blue) I went and swapped the colours, before clicking on the next page haha

Was gonna post it because it looks terrific! They should go with the above, no doubt!

The best Ive seen is the Blues guernsey. In fact, all the predominatly white ones are bonza!

White is fine for clubs who have White in the current jumpers.
Adelaide, Brisbane, Essendon, Hawthorn, Melbourne & Richmond look ridiculous in White.

Not necessarily.

West Coast, for instance, are only blue and yellow. Yet that possible Clash guernsey that's all white with blue shoulder wings looks great IMO.

Similar good looking guernsies could be done for those teams you mentioned.

Adelaide - white with red, blue, yellow shoulder stripes, blue collar and cuffs, and red or blue side paneling.

Brisbane - white with a blue upper chest as they already have with maroon and yellow collar/cuffs.

Essendon - white with a sash that is half black and half red. As Stkilda already looks good in black/red/white, and as Essendon has white numbers, it wouldn't be a wrong color combination.

Hawthorn - white with brown side paneling, and brown cuffs and collar that have a gold line in the middle of them, with a brown/gold wing of a hawk or whatever. Plonking a big white square on the back of their main guernsey looks more out of whack (especially as there's no synergy with that square and the vertical stripes).

Richmond - white with same kind of thing: black collar/cuffs that have a yellow line in the middle of them, and a quasi-sort of sash that is black/yellow. As in, most of the upper chest is black but runs diagonally to just below the armpit, and some thin yellow lines bordering it on the black side not the white side.

Melbourne - red blue and white has always been a great color combination.

Maybe I should mock them up and people can laugh at them. :)
Some of them sound worse to me than the ones the teams are wearing.

Laugh all you like, but the original point made by Mero was that white wouldn't go well with teams who have no white in them. It wasn't about any specific design. I just made a suggestion, but they could be anything, it wouldn't matter - the point remains valid that white would still go with all of those teams colors.

You're saying that black, red and white. Or blue red and white. Etc. Are all combinations that don't mix well. Which is not correct.

I wasn't saying they are crap G G i just wanted to see some more of mero's work :thumbsu:

Well it's late and we're all fart-assing around, and i'm sure Mero would love to have any excuse to mock up guernsey designs, being the artist he is.

Remember, I only made suggestions to say, if done a certain way, you can make even trickier combinations like brown, gold and white work. But there's no way melbourne(red/white) or essendon (black/red) wouldn't combine well with white. Which is really the point anyway.

But laugh, i don't mind. Interesting to see if Mero can get the sort of idea I was hinting at, like especially Richmond, which I don't think I explained well.

I think the essendon jumper has potential to be ********... the rest dont sound that bad

The day you see Essendon beginning to think about considering letting the thought cross our mind of wearing that is the day you see us merge with Collingwood.

Fair enough, but black red and white do mix well. IF for some reason the AFL ended up doing a color v white clash/away regulation, and Essendon had to have one, i guess it would be some sort of sash design. So...all white, with some sort of combination of black/red sash.

Why I suggested that....as unwanted as that may be.

Just like I hate the concept of Port wearing that atrocious fountain design, and even their home one with SBS squiggle....I totally understand every single club's desire not to tamper with tradition etc.

Merely making the recommendation that if the AFL is hell-bent on clash strips, the pred-white is the better option as reverse colors still clash etc. That's my only debate about clash strips -- if they had to be done, no way out of it, pred-white is easier and wont still cause clashes.

Essendon would just like WEIRD like that, hard to adapt to.

BTW...Richmond idea...

Basically, a triangular shape of black, that fills up all the upper left shoulder, anchored along the left of the black collar and the left black sleeveless cuff. It runs diagonally but not so exaggerated. Only about as low down as the armpit, a little lower. So from left armpit to right armpit it ends up being a horizontal line. This whole triangle is colored black.
The pointy edge, under the right armpit, continues across the back of the guernsey as a straight horizontal line. Above it would be all white with black numbers.

Back to the front....Both cuffs and collar are black, but have a thin yellow line in the middle, like what the Eagles have. On the upper diagonal side of the black upper chest bordering the left collar are two thinner (but not too thin) yellow lines that encroach a little onto the black side, with a gap inbetween, so that you can see the yellow over black.

But at some point it will need an artists finer help to make it look attractive, by adding or taking away this or that, etc.
