Are you for real? or just cant be stuffed doing a jumper lol

You must have microsoft Paint installed on your computer, you give it a go :thumbsu:

WTF is that all about? Clubs threatening police action to BF posters? Because those BF posters are club insiders?

What's the big deal anyway? If they've already agreed to use those guernsies and submitted them to the AFL, got approval? Did the BF posters all spoil their little press conferences lol.

Some clubs, honestly
They think the big unveiling is going to be some great positive event, when really, all their clash-choices are going to be met with scorn and derision.

K4PM. If I just didn't want to, I'd tell you to get stuffed.

g.g. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Yes, it's quite true they have harrassed people from here, and yes, it has to do with their Press Conferences, and the chance to promote themselves as the next power broker in the AFL.

Their argument will be that they get to promote it, create excitement around it, and more importantly, put their spin on it to help people formulate their opinions.

You hit the nail on the head there, Mero. Wow, I can't believe that. To stoop to police action over the self-jism of a press conference.

But it's not just this. When the Port clash leaked, it was apparent they were fibbing about there being "other" designs that went to a vote with junior members. That fountain thing is clearly an RBK design used on other RBK apparel. Signed away on it immediately. If there'd been a sincere attempt to get approval from members and fans they wouldn't have targeted the children of club officials and a couple of the younger Port players only. They just knew most everyone would DEMAND some form of a prison-bar clash and avoided a true vote. Plus, it would've taken this long still to get full approval before proceeding, like other clubs are still doing. And to date, no one has even seen these supposed "other" designs that were shown.

Also, how absurd is that....a press conference to show off a butt-ugly clash guernsey that everyone is going to laugh at and complain about, yet they think releasing a clash guernsey in a press conference has any bearing on them being looked as a power-broker etc. How up themselves and deluded are they...their players will look like a bundle of sticks tied together.

All I think I'm allowed to say at this point is that it appears the jumpers I have drawn would be so close to being accurate, that the AFL have lost their minds over it.

Thanks to all those who sent me stuff, not only the Footscray jumper, but the link to the Geelong Shop, thanks also to the North Shop, to Rebel Sport at Knox for selling the Richmond jumper, and to Kane Johnson for modelling it in a pic on their website; to whoever posted the Bulldogs jumper on the Bulldogs Board, before it was pulled down and he received nasty phone calls. You took one for the team. (The Big Footy team)
Thanks also to Peter Jackson from the Essendon FC for having a meeting and presenting their Clash jumper.
Also to Eddie McGuire for saying Collingwood would use last year's Heritage jumper. That really helped, thanks Ed.
Thanks to Herald Sun and all news Ltd newspapers for showing pics of the Carlton & StKilda jumpers. And finally to the sportal.com for fine reporting on the respective club websites that the other clubs will not be changing from existing jumpers.
It took some work disseminating fact from fiction, and it took several months to collate all the information.
But I think we can finally say the jumpers in this thread are in fact, the jumpers to be used by the clubs in Clash situations.

Maybe the people at the AFL and its clubs don't realise it's not just a job and a career for people here, like it is them. This is our passion.

Too right. And no one realizes how angry I am that Port are one of the main culprits as they vainly attempt to "redefine" their image/brand for "the new future generational fan". All of their AFL guernsies, including the home one, are appalling IMO, let alone this new clash one..

I thought they were proud of the past?

Agree with your post about claws and photoshop effects. It's not really "football" is it? It's one of the reasons why Essendon and Collingwood are so strong.

They are, it's just this corporate angle that 'needs' to distance itself from the SANFL and Port Magpies Football Club. That 'needs' to become popular around Adelaide, take some of that 80% market share that the Crows have. Etc.

I understand it, and to some extent, they're right. But IMO they actually need to identify MORE inside Adelaide with the ex-Magpies, prison-bar, etc. Due to being an insular region inside Adelaide, they aren't going to really become popular enough around Australia to get more supporters. Honestly, who outside SA will become a member anyway? Very few. They need to re-assert their branding/imagery/identity inside Adelaide. The more they wallop the Crows on the field and win flags, the more support they'll get from within Adelaide. That 80-20% market share will become more like 60-40%. But constantly avoiding their history, their prison-bar, etc etc, will only end up peeving existing PAFC fans.

I cant see why eagles dont just use their white training jumper as a clash.

That is their white training jumper...minus the sponsorship and the watermarked eagle logo in the bottom right of the image.

This isnt actually the same as the clash jumper, althought similar not the same.

The eagle is smaller and up a little bit and there is no gold strip on the arms

What would be the point of making a totally new jumper thats slightly different...

I'd buy you a beer mate. Top post.

Heres an example of a crows jumper with white which could look good if slightly modified. Obviously get rid of the logo, make the red stripes up the side white and the blue at the bottom white to just leave a few stripes across the front and it would be a good clash jumper IMO.

Otherwise, i rekon this could work. I don't think a red clash guernsey is good. it should be yellow. the 2005 heritage jumper we wore (state design, predominately yellow) looked awesome. So this is my idea:

Nah i think there awesome hey. Really shows how ******** some of the clashes really are. Outstanding work by Mero.

But some people just really have to ruin a good thing dont they.

sure do. oh well. I came up with designs for all 16 clubs, where it is basically just a slight variation on design and changing the predominate colour. I think they work well.

That looks great :thumbsu: I always enjoyed that heritage jumper and this modern version is top notch.
The white top got me wondering what our other tops would look like if they were predominately white. Our clash jumper looks fantastic as a white top.

Yea i agree that is a great design. i made one but i dont know how to get it from the folder onto my post?

open an account with photobucket.com or similar, and upload the picture on your PC to there. Then open that pic in your browser, so it's just a picture, and copy and paste the http address on here with a
code around it with no spaces inbetween.

They're both pretty cool. The yellow makes for a better clash color. But Sellars one is very nice too. The only issue I have with ALL guernsey designs is the over-use of effects and things like claw marks, bird heads etc.

It's just a trend I believe that will phase out back to the more traditional and more attractive simple designs.
