Ouch ...

Haven't seen it since sitting in the crowd that day. Do I get on IceTv and schedule it to be recorded .... I dont know if I have it in me.

I don't about the rest of you guys but I struggle to watch a losing game fullstop let alone a losing GF. I have never watched any of the finals the crows have lost nor the ones that the Legs have lost.

As far as I’m concerned it never happened. :D

On a side note. One HD has been great this week showing the past 7 Grand Finals :thumbsu: I watched the Brisbane v Collingwood 2002 GF the other night. It is amazing how much football has changed in such a short period of time.

Absolute ripper of a game though!:thumbsu: I remember watching in fear all day that Collingwood might actually win a flag.:D

I have never watched a replay of a game in which North or Adelaide lost.. just can't do it.

Enjoying this match though.

Just the first quarter I reckon ..... you can sometimes learn a lot from a defeat about people. (First quarter a lot more even than I remembered ... couple stagefright moments, and one or two unlucky calls).

I agree. Do you however agree that the loss is still felt in the club?

seems strange that a guy would leave from a loss 2 years ago?

I reckon its felt more at this level because its easy to get reminded of it - and because it was a GF. I dont know if the loss is felt much anymore, but the effects it had on games in 2008 are felt. We didnt lose to Brisbane a month or so ago because we were thinking about that particular loss, but possibly because we were thinking about recent games we had given up leads ... which indirectly flows back to the GF.

Other sides have lost finals by similar margins, and I reckon a few other sides would have suffered a similar margin against Geelong on that day.
I reckon specific players may still be feeling the effects, given their performances on the day and since ....

My take watching it so far - very much in the game for 25 mins of first quarter, and then guys started to get the feeling that they weren't meant to be there, and it all goes downhill from there.

From what i remember the lads got back on the horse pretty quick after that they were not given enough time to get it out of their system.

I would say a lot of current problems could be traced back to that day

and that bloody umpire and his whistle

Traced back - yep I'd agree with that.

It was fun to watch the Port Adelaide Comedy Festival again. :D
After the first 20 minutes Geelong just seemed to win every contest and every 50/50 free kick, and converted it frighteningly.

It's been great watching 7 of the most recent Grand Finals, some of them were absolute corkers.
Incidently, I think the Geelong vs Port match was the only one where a player didn't drop the F-bomb during a post-game interview.
