Green Bay

Thu 11/29 at Dallas 8:15 pm L
Sun 12/9 Oakland 1:00 pm W
Sun 12/16 at St. Louis 1:00 pm L
Sun 12/23 at Chicago 1:00 pm L
Sun 12/30 Detroit 1:00 pm L

C'mon Danz... even I managed to take some of the bias out of one of my posts!

We WILL NOT lose to StLouis or Detroit. Bulger/Frerotte will be running for their lives all day, and Detroit is vastly overrated. Indoor teams in December can not play for their lives at Lambeau. We have the best December record over the past 10 years of ALL NFL teams also.

Luckily for Dallas, we play them in November.

Chicago gets up to play us, so if we lose, that'll be the one.

Despite a soft schedule so far, things really toughen up now....GB and Detroit might not be better than us, but they match up well (Detroit spanked us last year) and also the final game against the Skins is a worry. During the three superbowl seasons in the early 90's we never won at Washington....maybe losing that game won't be so bad after all

Re: Green Bay v Dallas Cowboys - Week 13

Massive call. I think they look good at the moment but I wouldn't go so far as to say they are anything special.

Driver is sensational and underrated... that bloke fights for every yard.

Jennings seems to be coming on... Jones having that game where he fumbled two or three balls really opened the door for this guy, blessing in disguise perhaps.... but you've got Driver... Jennings is showing signs of life... the rest are just role players.

Lee should be in contention for Pro Bowl honours (says more about the NFC TEs yes, but he's not a bad player), Jones is the second best rookie WR stats wise, Korens had his issues but has a hell of a lot of talent, and Ruvell Martin tore it up late last year, and has a multi-TD game this year.

Compare that to

Sterling Sharpe, Robert Brooks, Anthony Morgan, Ron Lewis, Reggie Johnson and Ed West

or

Antonio Freeman, Bill Schroeder, Corey Bradford, Charles Jordan and Tyrone Davis.

or

Donald Driver, Javon Walker, Robert Ferguson, Antonio Freeman, Antonio Chatman and Bubba Franks.

Like Isaid, deeper than ever before.

Antonio Freeman, Bill Schroeder, Corey Bradford, Charles Jordan and Tyrone Davis.

Nah you're kidding yourself... I'd take this group.

You are wetting your pants with excitement about this current bunch but they have a long way to go. Rookies (Jones)... busts who caught a catch or two recently (Robinson)... busts until 3 or 4 weeks ago (Jennings)... just hold your horses before offending your past group of receivers.

Unbelievable... haha.

What's funny is that all of them would probably be #2 in Dallas...

Crayton coudn't fight his way out of a paper bag, Glenn can't get out of a hospital... shit who's #4? Sam Hurd... WTF?!?!?

gimme Charlie Jordan please.

I'll give you that. But that wasn't the discussion.

On the flip side you'd give us any of, if not all, of those for Owens or Witten :D

Witten is our #2 anyway.

Re: Green Bay v Dallas Cowboys - Week 13

Did anyone see the carnage of upsets in week 12?
DEN,ARI,TEN,KC & NYG,?? if they get through to january, they're only going to be making up the numbers.

all the big boys come championship weekend - NE,JAC,IND,DAL & GB (sorry Woodson-after last week, your mob doesnt deserve to get a mention here) came through.

Re: Green Bay v Dallas Cowboys - Week 13

Well...the gloss has well and truly been taken off this, the second biggest regular season game this year, with the sudden and tragic passing of Sean Taylor!

I've been a Cowboys fan since I moved here from the States 17 years ago, but I hope both teams put up one hell of a game, in the memory of a young life, taken way to early!!!

Its certainly an area we need to get deeper in, i'd be a surprised if we didnt use one of our two first round picks this year on a reciever. Its good to have a young reciever grow with a young QB.

In saying that they do like the 4th round project pick from last years draft which was the QB turned reciever Isiah Stanback. He certainly has the size and speed to worry any secondary, he just needs to remember how to run routes as he hasnt played WR since his freshman year in college.

Re: Green Bay v Dallas Cowboys - Week 13

You would think the Cowboys own the Superbowl in November the way the spruik is on in here.

Jason Witten will be negatated by our safeties as we dont need to double TO, Al Harris although alot smaller than TO will just irk at the man all day, just watch TO throw a tanty half way through the first after Harris has just pinches and pulls at him at the line when pressing. Once TO is failing to make a big impression then Dallas are screwed, Romo love child is no more and Dallas cant score. You wont get anything on the run either, we will rotate the big guys all day and we lose nothing with guys like Harroll coming on fresh, if anything we gain some enthusiasm and.

Cant wait to see Jennings burn your secondery as well, the dude has jets and catches everything, if Champ Bailey cant cover him how will Dallas??? haha looking forward to it, Dallas will fall over mark my words, biggest moral of the week.

Anyone tell me the odds??

Thanks boys :thumbsu:

Didn't pay too much attention to the rest of your post after that. Candidate for dumbest statement of the year on this board.

It certainly is the clubhouse leader for that award.

As good as Al Harris is at knocking recievers off at the line of scrimmage he'll need help with T.O as everybody does. If owens gets behind harris then he'll take it all the way to the house. The packers can't leave harris on an island for too long or they'll get burnt, he'll need some safety help .

Terrence Newman will go step for step with him, the big problem is driver who will get reeves. reeves is improving al the time but he's a nickle corner at best at the minute.

Re: Green Bay v Dallas Cowboys - Week 13

I'm not sure if it's been discussed elsewhere, but as far as I can see, we here in Melbourne won't get a chance to see this on Friday.

Checked the foxtel site for Friday & can't see it on - I know they've showed NFL network games previously this year........

If this is the case, are there any other options apart from a game cast on the net?

May the best team on the day win...........The Pack!

Not sure which games you are referring to as NFL Network retains exclusive rights to their games in the US thus barring Fox and their international affiliates. Has caused a big stir but thems the rules.

Re: Green Bay v Dallas Cowboys - Week 13

I can't remember specifically which game/games it was, but it was earlier in the season & was shown on ESPN - might even have been the season opener NO at IND. I think Cris Collinsworth was part of the calling crew.

Anyway, it appears we might be out of luck.

Indy @ Atlanta on Thanksgiving was an NFL Network match. We got that on Fox.

What will help Reeves and Newman will be the ability of the Cowboys pass rush in putting Favre on his backside.

end result... Favre will not throw a TD pass ;)

Re: Green Bay v Dallas Cowboys - Week 13

If C-Woodson is out, and a couple of those "big boys" rumored to be out for the game, this will favor Dallas. The run game will become more prominent, tiring the GB defense who will have 2-3 'big boys' less to rotate around, and no Woodson to help.

Imo, I think Harris can negate TO. Not a stupid comment. A 'time will tell', but definitely possible.

On the other side of the coin, Dallas' secondary will not be able to handle Green Bay's 4 and 5 WR sets.

So, I expect Dallas to run the ball a lot more. And Green Bay to throw and draw-play a lot.

Re: Green Bay v Dallas Cowboys - Week 13

So how have people been going with SopCast?!

I'm starting to think that I should schedule in a day of sickness for Friday... this is one game I don't want to miss and the biggest match-up (Cowboy wise) until the playoffs roll in
