Gill has all the makings of one of the best CHF to ever play
Campbell is likely to turn into one of the toughest on ballers about - he will fill the Roo's spot - but in his own style.
I hope to see the crows go to youth next

Richard Douglas
After breaking into the side late in 2006, much was expected of Douglas in 2007. He hasn't really delivered, but neither has he been disappointing. He managed to play 13 senior games, which is about what would have been expected of him. He hasn't really shown himself to be a class above the SANFL to date, though he has had a couple of outstanding games. Will need to spend some time in the weights room over summer and will be looking for another 15-20 games next year.

Think again. Campbell is a damaging midfielder who can rack up plenty of possessions. Why turn an attacking midfielder into a defensive one? You just don't.I think Gill has potential, but I'm not sure about "best CHF". Champion players show great composure and skill under pressure and that is one area Gill certainly is lacking. You cannot fault his work rate and attitude but would need to keep that up and work really hard on his kicking and concentration to be a good CHF.
I would like Bryce Campbell to maybe develop as a close checking midfielder and maybe challenge Shirley for his position. I think he has the attributes to be such a player but maybe needs to work on his engine.
Although I think Shirley had a reasonable year, I sometimes think he is somewhat of a wasted position as he rarely contributes offensively. I realize he is a tagger but I would like to see him become more like a Cameron Ling, or Kane Kornes, or even Cassisi and be able to really punish you offensively as well as keep the opponent quite (maybe I'm asking too much). I see Van Berlo possible being able to fill this role too.
When he plays with Glenelg he looks more relaxed and when he plays at the Crows he looks worried and cautious.
At Glenelg he sees the ball as achance to do something with it
At the crows he sees the ball as a chance to make a mistake no doubt will be a great player but needs to be allowed to play
Trent Hentschel
Hentschel destroyed his knee on Black Sunday 2006 and didn't play a game all year. Crows fans will be hoping that 2008 brings a return to the form he showed in 2006, though most expect a slow start while he regains confidence in the damaged joint.
HOWEVER
i will be amazed if he plays again
And you have based this opinion on exactly what factual knowledge??

Mattner ?
I think the calls are more for his tackling...oh wait thats Mattner as well.
I would like to see more of Campbell but I think its either the bench or a back flank is where he will be introduced until he has gotten used to the pace
Yeah the whole Mattner in defense thing was such a bad experiment, I wonder who made that call though especially in a year when we definitely need some run and carry in the midfield, Jonas or Craig?
I really hope he does get moved to the wing or half forward and tried there for as long as they persisted with him in defense.
I (like many others) would also love to see Johncock tried in the midfield, I cannot understand why the coaching never once tried him in the center this year, it really amazes me. I think the one thing we do lack in our midfield is a player that has speed that can burst away from the pack ala McLeod(when he used to play in the midfield), Judd, Burgouyne(is that how its spelt?). What do you guys think?
West AdelaideIt's because he doesn't have the aerobic capacity that Craig has set for him to reach before he would be even considered for the mid-field.
He never will either IMO - he smokes.
The fact is the Stiffy hasn't applied himself to the task to get fit enough to play midfield .....giving up the *** would be a good start.
In fact there has been this tendency for Stiffy's general fitness and presentation to not be acceptable in recent seasons ......at his age you'd think his professionalsim would be improving .....we could have problems down the track IMO
