Draft Review 2007 - Redo the 2007 Draft

Midfielders: Dangerfield, Cotchin, Ward, Ebert, Hanley, Selwood and Steven
Defenders: Taylor, Rance, Hooker and Thompson
Forwards: Walker, Rioli, Mayne and Henderson
Rucks: Lobbe and Kreuzer

It's a pretty good draft with some good elite midfielders, defenders and forwards.

Kruezer is the forgotten man. Boy I hope he play some consistent football without injuries next year.

Rioli disgustingly overrated. It is actually ridiculous.
Who's Kreuzer?

Nah, wasn't he supposed to miss only half of the year?

Nope. Was scheduled to pretty much miss the entire season. Fortunately played one VFL game.
Ah ok.

But you would think that the age he is now with a big pre-season, former number 1 draft pick he is going to take the comp by storm next year. Is he 25 or 26 next year?

He will be 26 next year. Hopefully he can produce 3-5 years of consistent football as our main ruck. Not expecting too much. But definitely a massive upgrade on Warnock and Wood.

are u serious? Kruzer is the forgotten man for a reason.. hes not a good player, maybe even under average for the spot he places.. basically hes not even an average player.. hes more of a journeymen, bit like spagher from hawks, but sphanger (noidea how to spell it) can actually play his role, even if he wasnt our first choice tall backmen, kruzer wouldnt even get a game if he played for the hawks.. maybe 1-2 cos of injury but otherwise hell b playing for box hill for most of the year..

and yeh calling Cyril overrated is so 2011-12, keep up with the times man.. eg. Wingard is the best player in the league etc etc.. hes overtaken Cyril in the "overrated" spot, u dont watch hawks play, i can tell... u just look at the stats are u see Rioli 15-20 possies, 1 goal 1 goal assist as an example and thats where u fail, we hawthorn fans get to see him every time he plays.. im pretty sure that hawk fans can chuckle when ppl say Rioli is overrated... get with the times man.. ur stuck in 2011.. and btw Kruezer? however u spell it is at best the reserves top 10 players.. and by that i mean 7-10 best player in the reserves team, and thats me being polite about it..

ps. you know that Cyril was in the top 10 players in the offical stats right? what is krezuer? i got no idea is he even in the top 20-30 ruckmen? are there even 30 ruckmen? is he in the top 100 players ? no idea, ive never seen his name when i check the official AFL stats..

is that a joke or something? i finished high school a long time ago, wat are u really old? u much pee a lot of times at night.. so you write silly stuff after u pee? 4-5 times a night? are u gonna die or somethin? dont die man, i reckobn u still got 10 yrs in ya grandpa.. how silly does that sound

i understand, u carlton fan right? i would be like you if i went for Carlton.. i havent heard much about kruez this year.. apart from him playing relaly bad.. i get it man, you had 3 top 1 picks and the legendary chris Judd, and u cant even make it to the finals.. id b sad too.. sorry your not a hawks fan, if u were u wouldnt b saying stuff like that.. cool cool ill leave u alone, Carlton is already doing enough to make u angry.. btw, Judd or Hodge? has to be hodge now.. took us to many finals and 2 norm smiths. Judd in Carl has won a brownlow and ummm thats all i can think of? apart from his body breaking down on him and his crappy season this year.. who comes back frmo an injury and does another injury 30 seconds when he got subbed on..

Yeah this sums up your post pretty succinctly I'd have though.

do you seriously think kruezer is that good? alright then since you guys are Carlton supporters, ill take your word for it.. hope he has a massive 2015 to prove everyone wrong (non carlton fans n footy experts that is).. best of luck to him and hope he plays a full season, nobody likes seeing a player injured, even if that gives our team more of a chance to win the game.. top 10 ruckmen next year would prove me n others totally wrong

He was pretty much on par with Goldstein and Minson in 2013 when he wasn't injured

Kreuzer has definitely been a disaster as a no 1 pick. Even when fit he would struggle to be in the top 8-10 rucks in the comp and I'm sure that's not what they were looking for when they drafted him at no 1.

Have to agree with that. Injuries have really hurt him but at number 1 you would want him to be a genuine star.

This Draft actually looks pretty weak when compared to 2008.

Dangerfield Cotchin Taylor the 3 obvious standouts.

Not the greatest draft but players like Ward, Thompson, Hooker, Rance, Lobbe, Ebert, Henderson, Stevens and Walker are very important players in each team.

When he's not injured Robbie Tarrant goes alright.

He's never been a spud.

Everyone bar Wells after calling out HT's name was thinking it was a massive reach. Danger was never in doubt of being a star and Cotchin not really far behind.

HT was a longer reach at the time - but now it seems like a masterstroke. In Wells we Trust.

Must say, the years rookie & pre season drafts also produced a number of quality AFL players.

Shane Mumford, Pearce Hanley, Nathan Grima, Tom Bellchambers, Stefan Martin (to Brisbane), Pat McGinnity.

You made a good point until you mentioned pat mcginnity

Danger was very much in doubt of being a star, and seen as a big reach at pick 10. Important to remember he'd played as a tagger at the championships and hadn't won all that much ball. In Adelaide the place went absolutely crazy, and not in a good way, when he was taken as we overlooked unbackable favourite Brad Ebert. Brad's uncle was on radio accusing Adelaide of deliberately conspiring to have Brad sent to West Coast just to spite the Ebert family.

He was always viewed as a second rounder, or very late first rounder at best.
