Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

Pretty happy.

Open and close the season at home, there's a lack of Prime Time games but you have to expect that being 12-20 in the past two seasons. I like our byes to be mid-way through the season, Week 7 isn't too bad, and have two weeks to prepare for Denver which is a good thing.

Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

The week 14 game would have a bit more spice fuey if your mob would pull the trigger on the Moss deal.

Some interesting matchups this year due to individuals more so than the teams history. The Falcons/Texans matchup will be interesting, especially since it's in Atlanta. Sort of reminds me when the Saints let Delhomme go to the Panthers - it was the begining of the end for Saints fans and Aaron Brooks.

Not a bad draw for the Saints, plenty of nationally televised games and some great matchups. Going on results of last year you'd probably say it's a tough draw but teams change so much season to season that strength-of-schedule based on the previous year is a little meaningless IMO.

Colts for the opener is tough, but I'd prefer to play them early rather than late. Let's hope they are suffering a Superbowl hangover - and Peyton suffering a Saturday Night Live hangover.

Interesting, in the last two games we repeat our playoff schedule from last season. Eagles and then @ Chicago. Hopefully if we don't own the division by then, these teams own theirs and start playing backups.

Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

Other than overloading us with the Cowboys, the prime time games on paper look a lot more interesting this year & with flex scheduling we will hopefully get better games on Foxtel than we've had in recent years.

Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

Thanx for doing the honours JD. Much appreciated.

Steelers have a club record FIVE night games scheduled. :thumbsu:

Dec 9th @ Gillette Stadium will no doubt be the BLOCKBUSTER of the road games for us. Plenty to look forward to under Mike Tomlin.

Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

I can't believe it!!!!

Week 5, Monday Night Football, Dallas at Buffalo. Does this mean I will actually get to see the Bills play?!?! I have forgotten what my team looks like, since Sportscenter never shows highlights of them.

Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

Week 4 could be an interesting road game Woodson.

Definately but we see the same habits in Arz every season...they may have a few stars here & there BUT without dominating O-lines and/or a relaible D, they are forever also-rans. I'll only pay attention when they win thier division and shut opposition teams out. ;)

Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

Are listed game times EST ? I'm trying to work out the season kick-off MNF 10.15pm time slot? (Wouldn't it be after midnight in NY when this game ends?)

Ha ha... that one's died off a bit, hasn't it? Maybe the Raiders are too scared to pull the trigger in case he blows them out of the water...:D

And on a closer look, we play away two weeks straight three times which seems like a tough run, so I expect us to maybe start stinkin it up around week 11 or 12... though we should look good early and late in the season.

Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

A good article on the schedule:

Breaking down the 2007 schedule
Vic Carucci

(April 11, 2007) -- Here are some interesting tidbits from the 2007 NFL schedule:

-- The defending Super Bowl-champion Indianapolis Colts make only one appearance on ESPN's Monday Night Football, Oct. 22, when they face AFC South rival Jacksonville on the road. However, they do have four other prime-time appearances -- the Sept. 6 NFL season-opener at home against New Orleans on NBC, a Nov. 11 NBC Sunday Night Football game at San Diego, a Nov. 22 NFL Network game at Atlanta, and a Dec. 9 NBC Sunday Night Football game at Baltimore.

-- Baltimore and Denver share the distinction for most appearances on MNF with three. Besides their Sept. 10 opener at Cincinnati, the Ravens' other MNF games are at Pittsburgh on Nov. 5 and at home against New England on Dec. 3. The Broncos' Monday night games are at home against Green Bay on Oct. 29 and against Tennessee on Nov. 19, and at San Diego on Dec. 24.

-- The Buffalo Bills make their first Monday Night Football appearance since 2000 (when they suffered a 44-20 loss at Indianapolis) and their first home MNF appearance since 1994 (when they beat Denver, 27-20) when they face the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 8 at Ralph Wilson Stadium. It also will mark Wade Phillips' head-coaching return to Buffalo, where he coached from 1998 to 2000. He was there last season as defensive coordinator of the Chargers.

-- The Eagles have consecutive games at the Meadowlands (Sept. 30 against the Giants and Oct. 14 against the Jets), separated by an Oct. 7 bye.

The Browns are certainly pleased to have Jamal Lewis on their side when they his former team.
-- Circle the Date One: Running back Jamal Lewis, whom the Browns acquired in free agency from Baltimore, takes on his former team when the Ravens visit Cleveland on Sept. 30. On the same day, new Texans quarterback Matt Schaub faces his former team, the Falcons, at Atlanta.

-- Circle the Date Two: Running back Willis McGahee, whom the Bills traded to the Ravens, makes his return to Buffalo on Oct. 21.

-- Circle the Date Three: On Nov. 4, the Patriots return to the RCA Dome, site of their loss to the Colts in the 2006 AFC Championship Game.

-- Circle the Date Four: Running back Travis Henry, whom the Broncos acquired in free agency from Tennessee, faces his former team when the Titans visit Denver for a Monday Night Football game on Nov. 19.

-- Circle the Date Five: Linebacker Joey Porter, whom Miami signed after he was released by the Steelers, gets his first crack at his former team, when the Dolphins visit Pittsburgh on Nov. 26.

-- Circle the Date Six: Linebacker Adalius Thomas, whom the Patriots acquired from the Ravens in free agency, makes his return to Baltimore on Dec. 3 on Monday Night Football.

-- Circle the Date Seven: Second-year Texans coach Gary Kubiak faces Mike Shanahan, for whom he worked as an offensive coordinator in Denver from 1995 to 2005, when the Broncos visit Houston for an NFL Network game on Thursday night, Dec. 13

-- Circle the Date Eight: Linebacker Takeo Spikes, whom Buffalo traded to the Eagles, gets his first crack at his former team when the Bills close the regular-season schedule at Philadelphia on Dec. 30. On the same day, the New Orleans Saints return to Soldier Field, site of their loss to the Bears in the '06 NFC Championship Game. And second-year Kansas City coach Herm Edwards faces his former team, the Jets, in the final game of the regular season on Sunday Night Football at the Meadowlands.

-- Jacksonville, New Orleans, Tennessee and Washington have the earliest bye of the season on Sept. 30, which is Week 4. Houston, New England, Tampa Bay and the Jets have the latest bye of the season on Nov. 11, which is Week 10.

-- Of the five first-year head coaches in the league, only one will open the season at home on Sept. 9 (Oakland's Lane Kiffin, against Detroit). That same day, there will be road head-coaching debuts for the Steelers' Mike Tomlin (Cleveland), the Falcons' Bobby Petrino (Minnesota) and the Dolphins' Cam Cameron (Washington). Arizona's Ken Whisenhunt will make his head-coaching debut at San Francisco in the second half of a Monday Night Football doubleheader. Also on Sept. 9, Norv Turner makes his debut as San Diego's coach at home against Chicago and Wade Phillips makes his debut as Dallas' coach at home against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.

Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

Watching the NFL station wrap with the Mooch & Jim 'the play-offs?' Mora Snr..

The Mooch (Steve Mariucci) thinks NE are SB specials. Doesn't think the Bears will return. JD will love Jim Mora Snr... who has a sad 'play-off record' btw..thinks SB XLII will be Indy & New Orleans... a lil' bias I reckon. ;)

So, WHICH TEAMS HAVE the TOUGHEST Schedules? based on opponents records from 2006 season.

Buffalo .539
Oakland .539
New England .535
Tennessee .519

That's as tough as it gets for some. :o Note: Jax are the only team to play three consectative road games this season then return home to face INDY @ home.

As a Dallas fan I'm happy this game is at the start of the season :thumbsu:

Also, Cowboys haven't won in Buffalo since 1971!!

Re: 2007 Season Schedule announced.

Last night my mate was telling me about his trip to NY, incidentally he is a NY Giants fan and we always talk NFL among other sports. Anyway he's like oh the fixture came out today, hopefully NY at playing at home and I'm like yeah that would be cool. Well of all teams they got for a home game it has to be New England. Got to say I'm pretty jealous, but still happy my mate it going to see a NFL game.

And if memory serves me correctly, the Bills play the Patriots coming off a bye for the 4th year in a row! Conspiracy I tell ya!

Barely. I wouldn't worry as much. The percentage is lower than I thought. :o Considering that NE & JETS made the play-offs. Doesn't it thrill you that to beat your division rivals, that's a leg up for wildcard hope...can't beat your division rivals, then your team is not worthy of play-offs. Simply really.

Long time since Bills made it to the play-offs.

Not wrong. Obviously Tags referred Mr Kraft to new commish Roger Goodell and advised him that a polish or two may help around schedule time.
