Did you stay for the concert Raikkonen? If so was it any good?

I thought it was ok. They werent on for long though I dont think, not much longer than 50-55 minutes. UFO went off, as you would expect tho.

I would have enjoyed it more if I wasnt so sunburnt with a mild headache, and being so knackered from the 100's of km I must have covered today!!

That Bugatti Veyron is something else, it really is. Youve got to see it up close to get a real insight as to how incredible that car is. The other cars in that showroom are awesome pieces of machinery, especially the Konieggsegg and the Pagani Zonda and anywhere else theyd have people all over them..... but not when the Bugatti is around.

Good day apart from having my camera nicked right out of my bag and seeing that arrogant so and so Rick Kelly shun a dozen little kiddies..... and a Thursday record crowd to boot.

This wasn't you was it... (From adelaidenow)

"A man was attacked by three other men around 11am. They allegedly stole his wallet and camera. He was in the general admission area on CBC Oval when assaulted. "

Nah thats not me thankfully. What I reckon happened was I had a poster in my bag that I didnt want to bend so I left it open a little bit and they swiped it when I put it down to look at a few cars. I must admit until a couple girls ran up from behind me and told me I had no idea. 2 guys did walk past me faster than normal so it was probably them..... in the Support Category paddock when there wasnt too many people around.

Yes it is, why they call it heaven ill never know :p

And yeah it sucks, I had some real good shots, particularly of the Extreme Machine Gallery and of the cars going through the sweeper....... 08 hasnt been a great year for me so far lol.

Question

Is the area that have the merchandise (they call the holden side 'holden hevan') part of General Admission?

Yes it is. A bit further down is where the Grandstand ticket holders get in, and its blocked off to GA. With my Grandstand pass this year, much easier to get to Holden Heaven from inside the track, walk straight across Wakefield Street into Vic park, and cross the GMC brdge to get there, instead of walking all the way down to the Gillette (?) bridge, and then back through the stables of Vic PArk.

AFter viewing these magnificent cars today, I am now even more jealous. SOme incredible pieces of machinery there! You didnt manage to score the one with a top speed of 405km/h did you?

I don't know which car I'm going in yet, would love to go in the Bugatti :D

Concert was good fun :thumbsu: Looking forward to Powderfinger tomorrow night.

Oh and I met Rick Kelly, he was pretty quiet but it was good to see him.

I quite enjoyed sneaky and little birdy was pretty good too.

Have tomorrow off work so will be there for the afternoon sessions. I'm in pit straight too Raiks, but in section L.

If you saw him do what I did you wouldnt have said that. Oh and id love you to get in the Veyron..... a Crow fan in the fastest production car in the world :thumbsu:

Powderfinger were awesome last night, loved it, going tonight as well.

For my hot lap I got to go in the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. Our top speed was 210 km/h down Brock Straight. The track looks a lot smaller when you're on it and the walls are quite close :D I got to meet Murray Walker and he signed my program :thumbsu:

Haha, and you wont believe it, but I am also to the left in that picture. Next to the stairs on the left 3rd row up. :thumbsu: I was actually sitting there wondering what car you were in.

Wont be seeing Shannon tonight, not really my thing. Looking foward to a Holden (and Crows and Aussies) victory tomorrow, and Santana! :thumbsu:

Anyone go to the Fringe opening night last night?

Alot of people, wasn't too bad. Alot of underage drinking, saw plenty of elziabeeeefffff bogans fighting. Police must be blind, honestly.

Did pop into the Fringe for a little while but it was way too busy for me.

Great day today, a Ford domination 1-2-3 and theyll be very hard to beat again tomorrow. Very jealous of Crow*Girl ;), as with anyone who won a lap. Didnt stick around for Shannon Noll tonight but regardless of the result ill be definetly around for The Angels and also Santana :thumbsu:

Cant miss The Angels, nor Santana tomorrow night, not for a NAB Cup game. I missed tonight so ill be good to go again with some rest.

Ashley Cooper who was involved in the terrible crash at turn eight in the Fujitsu Development series on Saturday has passed away.

Very tragic news and condolances to his wife and two young children.

Absolutely. The accident happened directly infront of me and whilst it was a big one I didnt think something like this would happen. Just goes to show you how dangerous this sport is and whilst we all love it, drivers put their lifes on the line. To lose a family member at any time is a devastating experience but for one man so young, with a very young family of his own, its just horrible.

Actually in my mind he shouldn't have been allowed to drive. He missed the drivers briefing and was only given a few basic pointers just before he got into the car.

The majority of these drivers have never driven around the track before, although that goes for some other classes but the development series is different to say the open wheelers where the have all the down force elements on their vehicle to keep it on the track. The v8s are flying missiles and in the wrong hands are lethal.

But that is motor sport.

Sad very sad.

I say to my wife, if I ever go that way, at least it's the way I want to go.

You want your wife to see you as a brain dead vegie after seeing you crash your car?

That is most certainly not how I would want to go out. Thats terrible, to see any member of my family dieing on a bed and not being able to communicate with them at all. Heart breaking.

No but quick and doing something I enjoy. We all have to go sometime.
I'd hate to be a burden on you young ones as you don't want us oldies to have an up to date and brand new hospital. ;)
