DELETIONS
Retired: Nigel Lappin (veteran – outside list), Beau McDonald
Exchange period – traded: Anthony Corrie (Collingwood)
Delisted: Robert Copeland, Wayde Mills, Matthew Moody, Chris Schmidt, Colm Begley (rookie), Daniel Dzufer (rookie), Haydn Kiel (rookie), Phil Smith (rookie), Joel Tippett (rookie)

So going into December 16th, we have 1 senior spot, and 7 rookie spots.

Tippett, Dzufer and Smith are all still training with us, and are a good chance to be re-rookied, but we would seem set to be taking at least 4 new rookies as well.

Adam Spackman from Morningside is training with us, there may be more soon.

Anyone else see the bit in today's Sunday Mail about Ziebell and on the possibility of coming to Brisbane "he was preparing for the worst"?

Never prepare for the worst, there is usually an even worse outcome you didn't think of, like ending up at North. ;)

Hope he enjoys their famed facilities.

Disclaimer: Before some North supporter with a sandy crotch comes in to tell us about the amazing Arden Street redevelopment... I have three points.

1. I don't care.
2. It was a joke, lighten up.
3. I don't care.

In the interest of accuracy - the exact quote

"I convinced myself I was going to Brisbane because I wanted to expect the worst"

Well if the pre-draft rumours are correct, it looks like most of our recruitment department were prepared for the worst because they didn't want Ziebell either.

Thank god Rich slid. We got a better player, and avoided a rift between our recruitment and football departments.

Without knowing the reason why he said it, it would appear to be the sort of comment from a person who is inexperienced in dealing with the media and expressed his relief (rather clumsily) at not having to move interstate. I've got a feeling that it probably looks worse than it really is meant to be.

That what I was thinking too and I'm sure he's just happy not to have to make that move.

What a twat.

Enjoy Arden Street. :thumbsu:

I don't think he meant it as a slur against us did he ? I think he was referring to the worst as having to leave his family in Victoria.

I'm sure many kids have that same feeling...The majority would probably rather play in their own state.

But once they nominate for the draft, they would be aware that they could end up anywhere.

Doesn't he live in Wodonga or some other town up near the Murray? I didn't realise it was such an easy commute into Arden Street if he is not leaving home or did his family recently move to Melbourne?:D

Round 17 should be fun for him at the Gabba!

Most likely.

We're just having some fun with it... no biggie.

Is a border at Caulfield Grammar and has been for the last 2 years IIRC.

Exactly - I wasn't setting out to crucify the bloke. Just found it amusing.

We finally got a Jack.

Now we need a Joe or Joseph and a Jeff or Jeffrey (spelt with a J).

Let's trade off one of our Joels. ;)
