Great work Ant, some of the best profiles I've read.

So what's the story with Mitch Brown? Eligible for the ND this year? Why hasn't there been any buzz about him so far?

He has kind of just come out of nowhere to be one of the most talented key forwards in this year's draft. Was just playing club footy earlier in the year after being cut from Sandy's squad last year.

Dominated the under 19's comp, before kicking 7 goals in a school game where Jarrod Molloy was watching. The next week he was playing for Sandy.

He is eligible for this year's draft, is finishing year 12 this year. At the moment he has been nominated for the state screening but it wouldn't surprise me if his growing reputation earns him a gig at the draft camp.

I've seen a few boys from eagles (SANFL) were named. They have become reknown for producing young talent.Unfortunately, you, as many have, disregarded the cream of tha crop. Aaron Killian was considered tha best young prospect at the club only a year ago before he went down with injury. Was picked toplay 18s as junior for SA last year but had 2 pull out and opted for the world national track and field championships (Jumps an increible 215cm for high jump and sub 12 sec 100m). While extremely athletic, he has great hands in tha air and below tha knees for a big man (201 cm). Again missed tha state 18s this year, this time due to personal reasons unknown. Has gone under tha radar but local scouts recognise tha worth of an athletic ruckman who reads tha play and has great finishing skills. I'd look for him 2 go late second round but wouldn't be surprised to see the South Austrlian clubs take him much earlier such is his worth. you aint seen nothing yet:thumbsu:
Seems as though you have just described a taller, more athletic, better skilled player than Nic Natanui.

Hmmmm something here isn't quite right.

agreed!

Does anyone have any stats as to the height and weight of Mitchell Brown? Also what are his key strengths and out of the potential forwards touted as a 1st round pick (Trengove, Mckernan, Watts, Hurley, Johnston, Cornelius and Lisle) I know not all of them are pure KPF but all have the ability to hold down either a CHF or FF position. Where would you rank Brown amongst them? Thanks.

i think the bombers really need hurley. with fletcher nearing the end and mal just retired we need some new defenders for the future fast and hurley is the best man for us. although myers and paddy rider are stars of the future our fall in our game plan at the moment is our defense. we cant allow the opposition to score so easily and their inside 50s are way to high for my liking

hes 192 cm 79 kgs his strengths are great contested mark, great reader of the play, very courageous and a ood user of the ball id say hes better than lisle and has the ability to be up there with watts and co

From what i have seen Mitch Brown is a tall mobile forward that has a great leap and sure hands. In the mould of a Nick Riewoldt. Very courageous in the air as he takes marks running back with the flight. He took a beauty against us.

IMO he is as good or if not better than most of the KPP players mentioned in the top end of the draft. From what i understand he has grown considerably over the past 12 months to be around 193cm and is a genuine gun.

The 7 goals he kicked from CHF against ACK was outstanding and I heard the 8 he kicked against the APS was even better. All of the recruiters were there and i'm sure they would him in their sights.

Besides watts he is the most natural of the key position forwards in regards to being a footballer. the ultimate smokey

i agree whitta, that is a great call.:D

If you guts don't know Liam Jones has nominated for the draft

He is a powerhouse key foward from tassie and is in yr 11

Next year woukld probs be a late 1st rd pick, early 2nd

Could be a 3rd-4th round bargain this year

Yer, i saw Liam play in his APS games before he got injured. Is a player i would love melbourne to take a risk with him maybe with our third or fourth round pick, he has lovely size and also is a very nice mark.

Nick Heyne – 187cm, 79kg – Gippsland Power.
Lovely moving left footer who has done really well this season. Has absolutely dominated some TAC Cup games and had a reasonably good Champ series. Kicks mainly on the left side but can kick on the right pretty well. Is a dangerous forward who can kick goals from all angles and is a very good mark. Reads the clearances well in the middle and can find the ball. Pace is pretty good. Does have a few games where you wonder if he is on the ground at certain stages but then he will have a great quarter out of nowhere. If he can find more consistency in his performance over the whole game he will be a very damaging player.
Prediction – pick 10 to 30.

Seem's like a Derek Hine special.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him drafted to the pies, but with Pendlebury and Mccarthy similar types, there is some doubt as to whether he would be a required player at the club.

In saying that Collingwood's development is sensational, so he could be nurtured into a variety of roles.

My wish-list would be Blease or Vickery however.

I have a list of 130 or so. If there is anyone you are missing let me know and I may have them.

My list currently stands at 141, I'm trying to include all draft camp invitees (so waiting on a full list to come out) (missing info on Alistair Smith WA/Perth and Zacchary Ledin Geelong Falcons/North Warnambool ATM) the majority of state screenings and some notible others.

If anyone has info they wish to share please post it or PM me.

Mitch Brown (Sandy/Menton Grammar) is a certainty to be taken early in the draft. He has played well in some big games. The 8 goals straight he kicked in the AGS v APS game was amazing. This game had Shuey, Watts, Andrews in it and he obliterated them all! Has been kicked bags for Sandy recently and is really on the radar.

Late 1st round for me

You are missing alot of WA players who have a chance of being drafted this year.

I have a few names and also information on them aswell.

Well i only do profiles on players i have seen play ;)
No where did it say comprehensive draft profile thread with every player mentioned.
I have a few players to add in the enxt week or so but there will be no more interstate players simply becasue i am in Victoria watching TAC Cup footy and not interstate watching SANFL or WAFL.
:)
