1 melbourne Jack watts because david neits is gone and need a forward
2 west coast Daniel rich with daniel keer and other midfeilders retired there will need rich
3 fremantle Nick naitanui with robbie warnock gone there will pick him up
4 port adielade hamish hartlett because south austrsalian boy and good midfeilder
5 essendon tyrone vickery with lloyd lucas nearly gone and laycock shit lol there would want a tall or a forward
6 carlton michal hurly with carlton got no backman there would want a dual under 18 championship full back in there team to be the next full back of the club
7 brisbane jack ziebial pretty good player people rate him highley runs of half back and a midfeilder to and ppl recon he will come 5th
8 richmond chris yarren with richo nearly retired and richmond forward line pretty weak there would want chris yarren a strong forward player sho plays seniors allready and will suit richmods forward allready
9 collingwood jackson trengrove 196cm player can play back or forward and was impressive start of year but i got a minor injury late in the carnival people rate him highly with collingwood players like presti and wakelin retiring soon we would want a full back player or a forward if michal hurly is still in draft will pick him up or will probly get mckernen or if we want a midfeilder will get mitch robinson
10 kangaroos shaun mckernen or mitch robinson
11 sydney shaun mckernen with peter evritt gone and mckernen a pretty good ruckman will suit darren jollys back up ruckman well or there will get mitch robinson

Bolded bits are my favourites. That'd be the first mock draft I've ever seen that [strike]goes up to eleven[/strike] stops at eleven, and has an "or" for 10 and 11.

Jack Riewoldt used to post on BigFooty before he got drafted.

Can't remember what his username was though.

Garland was ColDawg (I think) and he had a crack at Neitz when compared to Carey and Brown.

If Richmond picked Yarren pick 8 I would be pissed and also Deledio only plays down forward to escape a tag. Our small forwards are Morton, Edwards, White, Connors, Brown and Cotchin (resting).

thats fair enough. I really rate yarran highly as a midfielder/forward and would hope the crows would go after him if we had the chance. I would say richmond would want Vickery but i think he will be gone. So who do you think they should draft?

One of Sidebottom/Hartlett/Ziebell or maybe even Swift after his good Draft Camp results.

Melbourne Pick 1: Jack Watts, Sandringham Dragons, Melbourne need a key forward and Watts is that man.
West Coast Pick 2: Daniel Rich, Subiaco, West Coast are in need of a young quality midfielder, he is physically built and ready for AFL.
Fremantle Pick 3: Nick Naitanui, Swan Districts, Fremantle are in need of a back up ruckman for Sandilands, a future star ruckman.
Port Adelaide Pick 4: Tyrone Vickery, Sandringham Dragons,Port Adelaide need a ruckman who can come into the side when Lade or Brogan retire.
Essendon Pick 5: Michael Hurley, Northern Knights,Essendon need a key position defender with the retirement of Mal Michael and Dustin Fletcher who will retire in the next 2 years, who can help Patrick Ryder in defence.
Carlton Pick 6: Jack Ziebell, Murray Bushrangers,Ziebell is the next best player in the draft and Carlton will pick him up at 6. Will find it hard to crack into Carlton Star midfield.
Brisbane Pick 7: Steele Sidebottom, Murray Bushrangers, Brisbane a midfielder who can kick goals.
Richmond Pick 8: Shaun McKernan, Calder Cannons, If Richmond don’t get Mark Seaby in Trade week the will try and get McKernan. He would be a good player at Richmond because he could go in the ruck and late in the quarter play in the goal square.
North Melbourne Pick 9: Hamish Hartlett, West Adelaide, North Melbourne need another midfielder if Daniel Harris leaves and one help out Brent Harvey.
Adelaide Pick 10: Lewis Johnston, North Adelaide, Adelaide are in need of a key forward and Johnston is a local boy who would fit into Adelaides team perfectly.
Collingwood Pick 11: Sam Blease, Eastern Rangers, Collingwoods are in need of a couple of midfielders now with Burns retiring and Blease would be good for Collingwoods midfield.
Sydney Pick 12: Steve Hill, West Perth, Hill was arguable the best player at the Carnival, Draft camp and will add to sydneys one dimensional midfielders.
St.Kilda Pick 13: Nick Suban,St.Kilda need a classy midfielder with Robert Harvey retiring and Suban would fit in the St.Kilda midfield pefect.
Western Bulldogs Pick 14: Ayce Cordy, Geelong Falcons, Western Bulldogs need a young developing ruckman who can go into the dogs ruck when Hudson retires. Will need time to develop.
Geelong Pick 15: Chris Yarran, Swan Districts, Geelong could use with another half forward like Yarran. Kicks goals, is a smart player and would strengthen the Cats forward line.
Hawthorn Pick 16: Jordan Lisle,Oakleigh Chargers, Hawthorn could develop Lisle into a handy defender and would fit in the side very well.

you mentioned the word 'needs' in the first 3 picks, when clubs dont pick on needs, always best available with early picks

im just trying to think of the people here :p

My feeble attempt:

1. Melbourne - Jack Watts - I think this one is all but done - his draft camp results just further underlined why he is the best young talent going around.
2. West Coast - Nic Naitanui - With the departure of Seaby they will be after the best young ruckman on offer. Could surprise and take the 'safer' option of Vickery here but the prospect of a Cox/Naitanui combo will be too hard to pass up.
3. Fremantle – Daniel Rich – Midfield class is their biggest weakness currently and will take the best available midfielder here, just an added bonus that he is a WA boy.
4. Port Adelaide – Tyrone Vickery – Port could go any way with this one but Lade’s just about done, Brogan is getting there and DeLuca doesn’t look much chop.
5. Essendon – Michael Hurley – Very high for a KPB but Hurley’s the best one to come around for a while. Can play CHF also but the question mark remains over his speed, something Knights obviously values highly.
6. Carlton – Jack Ziebell – Probably shouldn’t be taking another midfielder here but the added bonus that he can play forward will get this one done.
7. Brisbane – Chris Yarran – Is just so talented and Voss will take Yarran here despite question marks over his work ethic. The prospect of him playing alongside Brown, Bradshaw and Brennan will be too hard to pass up.
8. Richmond – Steele Sidebottom – 10 goals in the TAC GF has probably elevated Steele a few spots. Richmond have other areas in which they need to focus on but this is the safest option.
9. Kangaroos – Hamish Hartlett – Roos will be rapt that he drops this low. Is in the top few midfielders of the draft and Laidley would be mad not to grab him here.
10. Adelaide – Lewis Johnston – If Hartlett is still available at 10 (doubtful) they’ll take him but if not Johnston is their man. Ticks all the boxes here you’d say.
11. Collingwood – Sam Blease – Pies desparately in need of more class/pace in the middle and Blease has both of those points covered.
12. Sydney – Jackson Trengove – Can play at either end of the ground and the Swans’ key position players are quite old so that’s the area they’d be looking to improve upon. Is under a bit of an injury cloud however.
13 . St Kilda – Steve Hill – St Kilda’s not the fastest team going around so Hill would inject a bit of pace throughout the HBF/wing.
14. Western Bulldogs – Ayce Cordy – deal is now done, Bulldogs believe they have got a bargain here getting him under the father son rule.
15. Geelong – Aaron Cornelius – Would be a bit of a surprise to go this early, but with Mooney ageing, Hawkins not getting regular games and Lonergan struggling at times, they’ll need to select a good young KPF.
16. Hawthorn – Jordan Lisle – I feel the Hawks need to draft another strong KPB to go alongside Croad and Gillham & Lisle is the best available at this stage.
17. Melbourne – Shaun McKernan – After getting Watts with pick 1, would like to draft another tall player in the top 20. McKernan could quite easily go much higher than this so Melbourne would be stupid to pass him up here.
18. West Coast - Mitch Robinson – Would probably have taken a midfielder (Rich) if Seaby hadn’t left the club, so they will be desparate to secure a strong young midfielder with this pick.
19. Melbourne – Nick Suban – To go with the two talls they will selected here so far they will be looking to take the safe option of Suban with pick 19.
20. West Coast – Clancee Pearce – Looks AFL ready from day 1 and would be a welcome addition to the HBF to possibly allow Waters to move further up the ground.
21. Fremantle – Michael Walters – Jeff Farmer has retired so the Dockers will need to draft another small forward.
22. Port Adelaide – Tom Swift – Could be a bit of a risk but obviously the kid is just so talented. Fairly impressive draft camp will ensure that he gets drafted no later than pick 30.
23. Essendon – Rhys O’Keefe – Essendon should be desparate to add classy ball use to their midfield and O’Keefe definitely does. Is not the quickest player but Essendon have plenty of speedsters to compliment his great disposal.
24. Carlton – Ryan Schoenmakers – This guy could be the sleeper of the draft, is taller than everybody thought so that query is redundant. Great pair of hands and is an upgrade on Brad Fisher for the Blues.
25. Brisbane – Nick Heyne – Is a goalkicking midfielder who I do rate highly but due to the quality of other similar players could slip down this far. Brisbane would just have to take him with 25.
26. Richmond - Tom Lynch – Has good size and can play anywhere including in the middle.
27. Kangaroos – David Zaharakis – Will select another midfielder to add some more class & help out Boomer.
28. Adelaide – Matthew Broadbent – Will play on a HBF and if Adelaide lose Johncock to trade and McLeod to retirement over the next couple of years will look to Broadbent to be the succession plan.
29. Collingwood – Jordan Roughead – Chris Bryan sucks and Cameron Wood is unproven, Pies will want to take the best available ruckman here.
30. Sydney – Neville Jetta – Nick Davis is seemingly done and Sydney would want to add a classy small forward to their mix. Jetta is lightning quick and has great skills, could eventually develop into a midfielder.
31. St Kilda – Dan Hannebery – Very impressive draft camp, great engine and work ethic. This kid could possibly even get drafted higher also.
32. Bulldogs – Mitch Brown – huge end to the season and the Dogs obviously need some key position forwards.
33. Geelong – Luke Shuey – Quick midfielder/forward whose skills seem good enough. I think he will go around here but could go higher.
34. Hawthorn – Mitch Banner – Ball magnet who would really benefit in learning from players like Mitchell, Sewell, Hodge etc. Skills can be questionable at times but can kick goals when he goes forward.
35. Melbourne – Tom Rockliff – Smart footballer who unfortunately isn’t quite big enough to play a key position, although he is a strong mark for his size. I think drafting him would be smart for Melbourne because it will allow Davey to spend more time in the middle.
36. West Coast – Jamie Sheahan – Very small but he can play. Can go in and get the ball but can also play up forward depending on the needs of the team.
37. Fremantle – Tom Hill – Ruckman who will be groomed to take over from Warnock who is heading back to Victoria. Is bottom age so will take a few years to develop, will also play forward.
38. Port Adelaide – Matt DeBoer – Should be a lot higher than this but queries over his ball use are going to push him a fair way down. Is ready to play AFL from day 1 due to having a mature body. If he gets his disposal/decision making right could be a genuinely good player.
39. Essendon – Kade Klemke – Essendon need a medium/small defender and Klemke could play that role. Was pretty impressive in the U18 champs.
40. Carlton – Jay Shannon – works hard & runs all day, he could develop into a handy clearance midfielder.
41. Brisbane – Jarred Redden – With McDonald retired and Wood traded last year, another young ruckman would be needed to help out Charman and Leuenberger.
42. Richmond – Luke Stanton – Tall utility type that like Tom Lynch can play in multiple positions.
43. Kangaroos – Jarrad Blight – is a modern day tall midfielder, Kangaroos to add even more class with this pick.
44. Adelaide – Bart McCullough – Very tall but not necessarily a ruckman, can play in all key positions. Adelaide will appreciate his versatility and he could well end up a CHB.
45. Collingwood – Chris Hall – Too skinny to play AFL just yet but once again the Pies need to add pace to their midfield group, something that Hall definitely has plenty of.
46. Sydney – Paul Cahill – Athletic, tall type who would be good value here.
47. St Kilda – Xavier Gotch – is very small but can play the game. Could be worth the gamble later on.
48. Bulldogs – James Strauss – Is a very even player and could fill a number of roles. With the Dogs getting Cordy & Brown earlier will look to recruit a midfielder.
49. Geelong – Steven Gaertner – Could really be anything or nothing but Geelong are in the position to be able to take a gamble on him. I see him as a future CHB to take over from the likes of Scarlett & co when they finish up.
50. Hawthorn – Sam Wright – has quite a bit of flair, looks the goods. Might take a couple of seasons because he is quite skinny but Hawks can afford to be patient.

I find it hilarious that everyone pretty much puts us as going for Hurley at pick 5.

There is a good chance we will, but the logic behind this selection that most people use is baffling.

Mal Michael has retired and Dustin Fletcher will probably be gone in the next year or two as well.

Don't think we haven't realised that before now hey???!!!

Wonder why we drafted Pears and Daniher as key defensive prospects last year and they both played several games in their first season.

We will pretty much go best available at pick 5.

Is Ryder always going to be a KPB? I see him as eventually moving into a ruck position - he is wasted at CHB/FB getting 6 touches a game & doesnt really beat his opponents anyway...

Melbourne- Jack Watts-
Perfect KPP player, considered an very good athlete for his size but the best thing is that he is a footballer first IMO.

West Coast- Daniel Rich
Tough midfielder with good finishing skills, hopefully he gets back to his old style of playing (being very competitive football), because of his skills being in the top notch he is often used outside of packs to get the ball too, If he was given the license to just get the ball as much as he can he would be far more damaging.

Fremantle- Steele Sidebottom
If I was in charge of Freo I wouldnt be taking any risks (natanui) and I would be going for a skillful hard running goal kicking midfielder, Dockers have not ever really had a "great" midfield and as we have seen almost all premiership teams have had "great" midfields. Sidebottom is my favourite player in this draft as he has so much class, and with his draft camp results in the endurance he showed he has the physical capability to use this class.

Port Adelaide-Nicolas Natanui
He is an athletic freak who shows glimpses of being a footballing freak, Its wat Port need a cult figure and a ruckmen. Potentially could be the number 1 out of this draft but as we have seen people are a bit wary of taking people that arent considered "footballers" (with a mix of athleticism) in the top 3. Buddy Franklin was taken at number 5 I think and was fairly similar type and also Jarred Brennan in the top 5 as well, both were probably considered more footballers than him.

Essendon- Hamish Hartlett
A very good midfielder who wins alot of the ball in and outside of packs has good speed and good skills would be a very safe pick in my opinion and exactly what Essendon need.

Carlton-Shaun Mckernan
Its been a while since Carlton has taken a high pick that has been a KPP player, he plays alot like his Corey he runs hard competes in the air strongly and has a fair sized awkward looking kick. I think Carlton will go tall here.

Brisbane-Michael Hurley
This pick gets me thinking alot Hurley would be the obvious choice as they need some tall backs, but with Michael Voss coming in as coach he will have some strong views on who they should be taking.

Richmond-Tyrone Vickery
Need ruckmen and Vickery is very impressive I am not sure of his Draft Camp results but he looks good below his knees and above his head, standing at 200plus cm he is AFL ruckmen height but has the ability to go forward and kick some goals as he showed against WA.

Kangaroos-Sam Blease
With an ageing midfield and a lack of depth in the midfield I think the Roos will snap up Blease and he will play a fair few games straight out has a good turn of pace and finds space well, also can finish at full speed.

Adelaide-Lewis Johnstone
I think Adelaide may finally get the forward line they are looking for in the next two years if they grab this pick, Johnstone has a hard and agressive lead and plays with confidence in his ability.

Collingwood-Tom Swift
Big fast fit and talented footballer who has not played many games in the last two years, has proven his injuries are behind him and could well end up doing a Joel Selwood and becoming the most influential player in his first couple of years from this draft. Would add alot to the collingwood midfield I would think.

Sydney-Nick Suban
Smooth footballer who could fill in some gaps left from okeefe and maybe allow one of there midfielders to go to half forward, makes the right decisions and finds time on his left foot and exucutes well could add some class with vespremi to the tough likes of Jack Kirk etc.

St Kilda-Chris Yarran
Best available I feel some clubs will pass on him as he tries to be too cute sometimes but if he can get it all together he has as much talent as anyone going around. Could bring the spark to what is mostly a pretty boring team.

Western Bulldogs-Alyce Cordy
Father son?? is this right.

Geelong-Ryan Schoenmakers
This may be in more hope for what I think the Cats would do but I hope that we pick up this fella as I could see him being a very damaging wingman at AFL level in a couple of years, has pace a big kick and footy smarts.

Hawthorn-Jack Ziebel
I dont see the hype around this guy all too much looks like a good footballer with out being great, I havent seen as much as the guys in vic but from what I see he looks a safe pick without being worthy of the top 10 he has been talked up to be.

Brisbane-Michael Hurley
This pick gets me thinking alot Hurley would be the obvious choice as they need some tall backs, but with Michael Voss coming in as coach he will have some strong views on who they should be taking.

You're right.

Should Merrett, Roe, Patfull, Henderson, Garner, Tyler and Clouston all get injured, we'll need a tall back.

Brisbane need midfielders, badly.

I dont know if any of them have proven them self as real good tall defenders apart from maybe Merret I think Roe and Patfull will be better as 3rd talls in the back line. Henderson has played limited games and has played more footy as a forward and the other 3 are all pretty much untried.

But yes it is just a guess at what they will get wouldnt be suprised to see them even take Blease Swift Suban or another midfielder.
