That is a little out of left field, but a very promising sign for how well regarded Sheldon is at the club!

It will take a new draftee with some coconuts to say to Lethal "give me 3".
Couldn't find the article on line, but basically he asked the club if he could wear it, beginning of last year. Told him if he did all the right things he could.
His dad also wore number 3 apparently
Yeah, that's still one hell of a commitment to make as a young kid, knowing the history of the jumper.
I've always wondered why there's the assumption that a players will always want to wear a lower number.
Actually it's an interesting giude into their personality. No one would be surprised that Nige stuck with his #44 - didn't want to cause a fuss and probably wasn't really looking for others acceptance. Then there are others who changed their number a few times for lower numbers. Not saying that there's anything wrong with it, but it almost warrants it's own thesis.
#36 Bradshaw
#35 Rischitelli - I do not think he will change numbers, from what I understand, Peter Daicos was one of his heros growing up.
#33 Darryl White
#32 Hart
#30 Copeland
Alot of our guns have been content with the 30's.
Great point.
The lower the number the more they crave the spotlight? Flashy, super-confident players go for low numbers? Voss, Headland, Mitch C,
"just happy to be part of the team" players go for high numbers? eg Beau McDonald, Nige Lappin.
Might be something too that.
Guys before you go posting anything on the main board & make Lions supporters look collectively a little stupid.......
Ken Sheldon famously wore the number 5 for Carlton.
Where this No 3 thing & his father came from is beyond me.
My old man wore number 3 for St Kilda and I also wore it for a fair part of my junior career
Admittedly Vossy wore 56 I think when he debuted, so no great surprise there. A lot can depend on things like what number they wore as a junior or numbers of players they looked up to (I always wore #42 or #21 if I could, but would have worn the 25 of Jesaulenko or the 3 of Kenny Sheldon). Our first-round draft picks I think get their choice, whereas the rest are assigned them automatically, so I can understand if they wanted to choose another. I just find it interesting that's all.
