13 disposals is not unusual for a top ruckman, in fact players like Cox are the exception. In 2013 Minson averaged 14.2, Goldstein 11.9. In 2012 Jacobs averaged 13.4 and so on. He also does a lot with his possessions and based on 2012, more than any other ruckman for that year (creating scoring chains, taps leading to scores from stoppages etc.).

Excluding 2013 because of injury, NN has improved significantly each season. Based on his raw attributes he also has exceptional scope.There was nothing inconsistent about his 2012, where he not only gained the AA jumper, but was the highest CD ranked ruckman, had the most Brownlow votes, 2nd in the coaches votes, ranked 1 by the AFL and led a number of media awards for ruckman.

Grundy looks very good, however when not directly comparing players, but instead making an assessment of those listed based potential I still list NN at the top.

Nic Nat is an extremely hyped up player alot of times he lives up to it but imo he is not consistently in games over 4 quarters, I am not saying he is poor he is very good but he can improve a lot on his game.

He doesn't get enough ball around the ground and he doesn't kick enough goals for someone with his attributes.

No doubt Grundy will have patches of poor form over the next 2-3 years while he develops, people need to be realistic and most are Pie fans are just happy he is 'competing' with some of the best at such a young age especially after our run of very poor home grown rucks since Monkhorst (even though Fraser had his moments he never went on with it). Atm Grundy is showing a lot of promise and holding his own for a very young and inexperienced ruck, that is what we are excited by.

Naitanui will become the best ruck in the game (injury permitting), maybe I just am a harsh judge on him due to his potential ability and feel he should be dominating games a lot more then he does. He is a game breaker at his best but with his athletic ability he could be a Salmon type ruck as in also able to go forward and kick bags of goals.

I honestly can't stand how eagles fan overrate Naitanui. I can't buy into the hype. Taps are very good that's for sure, but he doesn't get enough of the ball (no his touches aren't worth 500 of everybody else's) and goes missing too often.

In all honesty, I would pick NN number 1. Elite ruckmen are hard to come by as it is, but one with X factor is rarer than hen's teeth.

I was joking about Minson. When both are fit, I would take Naitanui over Minson. NN is easily in the top handful of ruckmen, he has that X factor and is damaging, despite what people think. His tapwork is amazing, and can move like a midfielder.

Equal with Minson, Goldstein that one behind. Sandilands really isn't that good. Turned it on against Geelong though. Would pick NN #1 every day of the week from this draft. Beams, Ziebell, Hannebery, Sloane, Hartlett.

I dunno, I've never really rated Sandilands, but he is one of the best tap ruckman to have played. Cox is still right up there.

I still laugh thinking of all those people who thought Hannebery was the next Rhys Palmer after winning the Rising Star award and that he's never amount to anything.

Putting aside all that he's achieved already, both individually and in a team, he's one of the stand outs from the 2008 in terms of his character - ouzes courage and leadership qualities, plus he stands up on the big stage.
