1. Nic Nat
2. Hartlett.
3. Rockliff
4. Hannerbery
5. Sidebottom
6. Sloane
7. Beams
8. Rich
9. Redden
10.Hurley
Hurley should not be in the top ten - especially at the expense of Jack Ziebell. Hurley has been extremely disappointing.

You're talking about current list needs not list needs in 2008. If we had picked Nic Nat instead of Watts our drafting would look vastly different.
we didnt need a ruckman hence we didnt draft a ruckman...

Yeah we kinda did at the time. We had Jamar and who else? White just retired, we had an aging ruckman and nothing else to come after him, we drafted a ruck prospect later in the draft who still has question marks over how good he can be in Max Gawn.

and jack watts was considered the best in the draft, dont try to rewrite history
I suspect you're meaning unanimously given your blunt statement. Did anyone not rate him best in the draft?

Regardless, it's irrelevant whether he was or wasn't. The recruiters job is to pick the best players for the future.

People jump on and off certain players due to the quality of their most recent individual years too easily. Got to look at the whole body of work, plus exacerbating circumstances like injury and the like.

To date Zaharakis > Ziebell, yet not 1 Essendon supporter would pick Zaka ahead of Hurley.

Sheep will be sheep.

Are posters completing their list on who will be the best from the draft or who have been the best so far?

Stephen Hill creeping onto the lists is a worry if it is who have been the best. Not sure there was anything between the big Z's in 2013. One is an inside mid the other outside. 100% agree Zaka has out performed Hurley - but again poster maybe predicting what will happen.

Who would you rather Zaka or Hurley?

Who would you rather Zaka or Hurley?

1) Hurley CHB
2) Zaka mid
3) Hurley CHF

At the end of 2013 Zaka >>>>> Hurley. If essendon continue with Hurley forward IMO his talent will be wasted. The problem now with Crameri and Gumby gone I am not sure Thompson will make the move. Carlisle was in the top 3 backman for a lot if 2013 and has to stay back and I still think Daniher is a couple of pre seasons away from holding down a key forward spot.

Zaka playing 21 games helped when Hurley pretty much only played 13 other 3 was subbed out, 1 of them 2mins in. injured in the Bris, Rich and St Kilda games.
still managed 24 goals 16 behinds and 18 assists. If that is the worst of Hurley as our number 1 forward, He can only improve once injuries stay away and Daniher comes into the side full time.
Where Crameri never got the opposition number 1 defender to give Hurley some breathing space, Daniher more then likely will.

The two problems I see with Hurley forward is his timing and his hands. He runs under the ball and miss times the flight far to often and it maybe the wrist injuries but his hands are not that good for a key position forward. A move to CHB will see him led to the ball and he can punch instaed of having to mark try and mark it. You could have the AA CHB and FB in the one side. He is miles away from the AA forwards.

Are you in the keep in forward camp?

First and foremost I'm in the keep him on field camp. He just had his 3rd surgery on his wrist in 3 years, also his 2nd on his leg in 2 years.

Hooker and Carlisle are doing excellent down back.
Ryder ruck.
Bellchambers forward, 28 goals from 18 games w/ 395 hit outs = awesome return.
Daniher coming through, would be our best contested mark in the side.

Hurley in the Crameri role, otherwise Hurley back, Carlisle forward.
But Hurley as our 3rd tall will be pretty exciting.

Considering their body of work, Sloane and Sidebottom need to be above Motlop and Hill. Redden needs to be higher as well.

Motlop has had one good year. Redden has been good and consistent over the past few years.

First rd based on what the clubs would take today (not considering how their drafting may have changed after this). So not the top 18 per se, but the best 18 for fit today
1-Hanneberry - Dees would take the best mid in this list. a tough call b/w a few names here.
2-NicNat - Cant see why the eagles would change this pick, even for schuey
3-Hurley - The perfect CHF answer for the dockers in this draft
4-Hartlett. would port take the risk on the injury prone gun? my guess is yes. too good to pass up.
5-Zaharakis - B&F winner and forward/mid with a ton of run.
6-Beams - Best player available. Would have him in the Carlton 22 before either of Yarran or Garlett.
7-Rockliff - tough call for the lions between the players they have (Rich, Redden and Rockliff) and the talent available. not many i would trade rocklike for though
8-Ballantyne - Best small forward available for the tiger.
9-Sidebottom - tough call for the roos. the bash and crash of ziebell or the class of sidebottom. if it were my pick, i would go with class.
10-Sloane - local boy for the crows and an absolute jet.
11-Walters - Best small forward available. Would readily replace Krakouer
12-Suckling - Hard to pick what the swans would need most. With Hanneberry gone, perhaps a midfielder, but Suckling off half back is too good to turn up
13-Breust - Lack of small forward options at the saints would lead me to one of the more consistent small forwards in the comp.
14-Garlett - Best small forward left and a major gap for the dogs. With falls and stronger mid-height forwards in abundance, a quick, classy crumbing small forward would complete their setup
15-Ziebell - Hard nut, bash and crash midfielder - fits the mould and a steal at 15 for Geelong.
16-Schuey - Pack breaking run and good as an inside mid. Would have him in the top 10 overall by a mile.

bit of a different spin.
Would put Hurley at about 11 and Schuey in his spot. Ziebell at 12 and everyone moves down a spot.
