People often criticize Rockliff because supposedly, he is not damaging. But he clearly is. Maybe he doesn't have Shannon Hurn's kicking ability but he'd be one of the best decision making midfielders out. Rarely makes a poor choice. When given the right role in the midfield he had shown off his improved clearance and tackling game. Was probably our most influential player towards the back end of the 2013 season.

Kicked 7 goals, averages 3 inside 50s and 0.6 goal assists. Doesn't sound too damaging

He's an average mid playing for a very ordinary team, 25% forward time and he kicked how many goals again? I wouldn't swap Beams for a dozen Rockliffs, Mids like Rockliff are a dime a dozen, IMO he'd struggle to get a game for a team with a strong midfield.

That's why Rocky came 5th in the Brownlow ?

I've seen a lot of him, I'd call him a good honest player, my point was if he played for a team with a strong midfield he wouldn't get as much midfield time, do you honestly think he would average 27 disposals as a 5th string mid?

He's the no1 mid at Brisbane and being a no1 mid averaging 27 disposals and 4 Clearences a game is hardly worth writing home about, especially when he doesn't hit the scoreboard, comparing him to Beams is laughable.

You got to remember he played up forward a lot during the middle of the year. Go check the stats of his last 8 games or so where he played as a pure midfielder. You'll be amazed

Mate, Stats are stats they mean nothing if he had no effect on the result.

Rockliff would be rated more highly if he was a goal kicking midfielder. He's good but not nearly as damaging as Daniel Rich who i rate as one of the most damaging players in the comp.

A player in a really weak midfield averaged under 30 touches for a half a season is not mind blowing stats. Look at Beams number for an entire season - 2012. You will see why you can't rate him with the best from this draft.

If that isn't a weak midfield why didn't you play finals? Black is the only genuine star in that midfield and he was past it in 2013

No, I'm just saying he can have a huge impact on games. He's been very consistent for years on end now, not just the past 8 games.

You are looking at that through rose coloured glasses. 2 games and a huge % difference between Bris and the 8th best side in 2013.

12th was a fitting result as where your club is at.
