He can run and jump and handball. Why does that make him so good? He's nowhere near Rocky in terms of composure, ball use and decision making.

So he is better than Beams and Fyfe. So what about Pendlebury, J Selwood, Cotchin and Dangerfield? Would you swap with any of these players?

Rockliff is better for the Lions than Beams, but as individuals they are hard to split. Rockliff has Fyfe covered easily. Those other four are ahead of Rockliff

I dont think Rockliff has stats which are clearly better than any good midfielder, i remember saying that rockliff doesnt kick enough goals and some Brissy supporter claimed that he sets them up instead. His 0.5 goal assist average doesnt help that argument. And was it said that rockliff rested up forward this season? Because if he did his should of kicked more than 7 goals.
Another stat that cannot be shown on paper is impact on game, both Beams and Fyfe have huge impacts on there game. I have watched and even been to alot of brisbane lions games. I went to the round 23 game against cats and although rockliff was decent with his 37 touches they weren't absolute game changes, and it was Rich's second half that kept yous in the game.

What else is there to compare? I've covered stats, leadership, injuries, off-field stuff. What else do you want me to say?

Fyfe beats Rockliff in goals, inside-50s, clearances and contested possessions. He is an outstanding mark, he moves extremely well through traffic, and he is sublimely skilled below his knees. His influence on matches is massive and has been since his second season. He has not missed any significant periods through injury and his performance has not been hampered by injury. He has a good chance of being a future captain. I don't understand how Rockliff is somehow superior off the field - because Fyfe doesn't have the guts to make petty remarks about former teammates on Twitter? You haven't presented any evidence of Rockliff being a great leader.

Just because he doesn't get the goal assist doesn't mean he doesn't set up the goals. Rocky is constantly winning the ball or linking it up to the outside players such as Hanley, Rich, Mayes etc. Those blokes get the goal assist for Rock'ys hard work

Could say the exact same for Rocky, plus more. As I said before, you can hardly count him as beating him in clearances considering he only averages less than 0.1 more.

Rocky tackles more and is much more composed with ball in hand.

that could be said about any player on the field who has 1 or more affective disposal.
Seriously, a better comparison would be Tom Liberatore vs Tom Rockliff.

You couldnt compare Libba with Rockliff as Libba averages monster clearance and contested possession numbers and has a great disposal efficiency.

A good example would be to watch the game where he was miced up this year. He was the general of the midfield, he was even barking out orders to Simon Black. He's only 23 years old and is already ahead of the great Black and Brown leadership wise, I'd be surprised if he doesn't get captaincy this year. He's also great off the field, a good example is on draft night where he personally rocked up and greeted all the new draftees.

Libba averages 8.4 clearances, 14.4 contested possessions, 26 possessions at 72 disposal efficiency. Mate I'm sorry but Rockliff goes nowhere near that.

Pretty sure he beats him in afew of those mate. and that's just this year. Rocky's been consistent for years on end

Yeah as a first year player and with Rockliff getting a head start of 4 years. Don't argue this Libba has gone past Rockliff.

Rockliffs first 2 years were miles ahead of Libba's. In his 2nd full year he averaged 27 possies and won the club b&f.
