murray putting on a clinic 4-0 with break points on wawrinka serve looking good for the brit

What bad luck for the Williams sisters to be ranked 4 and 7 and scheduled to meet in the quarter final!

I hope Dementieva can pull through in the bottom half.

Instead of seperating the 1 & 2 seeds they should just put the williams sisters in seprate sides of the draw, odds on they'll be in the final together

Federer has looked more impressive than Nadal so far. Hopefully they meet in the final and Fed can silence the people saying he's finished.

Lovers of the game will hope so since federer is a better player and a better artist and if he hit his best he would win but I doubt it. I love watching him but he is now undeniably in decline and hasn't won a serious event all year. He is spraying unforceds left right and centre in every game he plays which reveals lack of concentration and/or nerves.

hopefully there is another couple of majors in him but frankly I doubt it. I would back Djolo and murray to beat him and Rafa, now unarguably the top man, has a chance.

Djokovic's antics against Robredo shat me to tears. Whenever he loses he starts calling for trainers. Pathetic.

Murray isn't much better, putting on limps and acting like a spoilt twat most of the time.

It would be beautiful to see Nadal demolish Murray a la Wimbledon, and him facing Federer in the final. Both Nadal and Murray have to get past potentially tricky quarter-finals first though. Del Potro is running hot and him and Murray hate each other, thanks to Del Potro telling Murray exactly what he thought of his antics during a match not long ago, and Fish has the home crowd behind him.

Muller knocks off Davydenko and the prick cracks the shits.

That was brilliant :D .

I love an underdog, that was an exceptional performance from Muller to defeat an enraged Davydenko. I dont think I have ever seen a pro wait until after a match to send his racquet to hell.

I think Del Potro might defeat Andy Murray in 4, although Murray has a much higher ranking and a fair bit more experience, JMDP is playing out of his skin at the moment.

It was frustrating to see my most hated player, Andy Roddick, get through again. Hopefully Novak can make a mess of him, I cant see a poormans Chris Guccione doing anything to upset Novak.

you'd have to be pretty terrible if you were a poor mans chris guccione, who already is a poor mans wayne arthurs

Andy Murray was ultra impressive, but geez you couldn't help but think JMDP is going to be a top 2-3 player within the next 12 months. That guy has some serious talent.

i hadn't factored JMDP in when I said Fed would be #3 at year-end 2009.

maybe i'll have to bump Fed down to #4!

Come on Rafa, it would make me sick to see another filthy yank fluke his way to the final.

Watching the Djokovic-Roddick match at the moment. Geez it would be hard to concentrate with that crowd, yelling stuff in the service motion, and just the general lack of respect for the players in general. Djokovic absolutely dominated Roddick in the first two sets, had him on toast. He had a big chance to break early in the third set, missed out on it. Then he came out in the next game and basically gifted Roddick the break with 4 unforced errors in the game. Roddick held on to win the set, and it's currently 2-1 Djokovic in the 4th on serve. Could turn out to be an interesting finish.

Well well, 3-3 in the 4th, Roddick with 3 break points, ****s them all, back to deuce. Then, of all things to do, Roddick hits two backhand winners down the line for the break! Roddick up 4-3 in the 4th with the break and Djokovic looks rattled. Crowd's starting to get to him, don't blame him.

Can't say I've seen that before; Djokovic serving to stay in the 4th set, 15-0, in position for the next serve, and the ball boys are hurling the balls cross court at one another! What the **** happened to rolling the balls!

Interesting situation here, Roddick had 30-0 (from back to back serves of 228km and 230km), missed a forehand, then 2 double faults for 30-40, then an INCREDIBLE backhand lob under extreme pressure from Djokovic and he breaks! Back to 5-5 in the 4th.

Tee-hee, they're playing the Zorba as Roddick readies himself to serve to stay in the match and send the 4th to a tiebreaker. Good game from Roddick considering the circumstances of the previous games, holds to love and we're tiebreaking it up.

Djokovic with the passing shot winner, 1-0 Djokovic.
Roddick punishes a forehand deep into the corner, 1-1.
Djokovic with the unforced error pushing the forehand long, 2-1 Roddick. Still on serve.
Ace to Djokovic down the tee, 2-2.
Roddick blasts the forehand return way long, now 3-2 Djokovic.
Unforced error by Roddick, the off forehand going centimetres long. Djokovic up 4-2, mini-break.
Easy forehand volley for Roddick, 4-3 Djokovic now. Djokovic could have 3 match points if his serve holds up.
Djokovic dominates the entire rally, eventually Roddick gets back into it, but nets a cross court backhand. 5-3 Djokovic.
That took guts; Roddick goes for the off backhand and nails it into the corner, Djokovic can't get it back. 5-4 Djokovic, back on serve now.
Big serve by Roddick, an unreturnable. 5-5 now.
Oh no! Roddick completely ****s up a drop shot when it wasn't needed, and now Djokovic is up 6-5 on his serve!
Roddick puts the serve long, and Djokovic wins!

He gives it to the New York crowd, pointing to his heart. Like the commentators said, pretty pointless doing that, because he only had that opportunity because of Roddick's **** ups in the 4th, but on the other hand, he did play very well in the first two sets. So Fed v Djokovic in one semi, and Nadal v Murray in the other. Should be two cracking matches, can't wait!

Roddick choked when serving for the fourth set. Had 5 bucks on him even though I hate him, oh well. Hopefully Nole takes out Federer in his next match.

If anyone else here has ever been to a sports event in New York you will understand what poor sports New Yorkers are. Classless idiots.
Anyway, I reckon Federer will knock Djokovic off in 4 sets.

Roddick has got to have the most pathetic game-plan of any Grand Slam winner in history. Honestly, if he had Nadals serve he would be lucky to be in the top 200. I dont know how any player can lose to a bloke who's only strategy is to get every ball back to the middle of the court, hopefully he does his shoulder and is forced to retire from tennis. Well done Novak, making the hack look ordinary for 2 sets, then very nearly ****ing yourself over.
