But I don't totally agree with the point about it being ONLY for reports, and no discussion.
I think a bit of lively discussion would help make the Buddy Board a more visited place. Last year there was really nothing of interest to read in a lot of the threads.

I agree. There needs to be a way that the reports are easily separable from the discussions though.

I think the threads were limited to reports because they were meant to serve primarily as a positive tribute to a player. You know how discussion can quikly turn nasty. I think Jabso (?) explained it clearly in the stickied thread on the Buddy Board last year.

As for giving preference to former reporters, I don't agree with that. I think everyone should start with an equal chance of being appointed a reporter (if we get too many applicants, which is unlikely) and of getting their players of choice. Looking forward to the new draft.

I'm thinking of having a wikipedia style project to co-exist with this. I won't give you the details just yet but it's not wikipedia itself. Users would create and edit pages on their Collingwood players although there would have to be some sort of format we'd have to obey.

Sounds like a good idea, especially considering some of the shite on wikipedia. I think Skeetz offered to do the Buddy draft.

I have been trying to keep this thread on the first page so as many people as possible could see it and hopefully sign up. Obviously I've been quite busy over the last couple of days with Christmas, but I'd still like to keep the thread open for a little while longer to get more people on board as I imagine a lot of people have been busy/holidaying/etc and not checking in here.

On the wiki idea, I reckon it could be a great help to the Buddy Board. I mentioned wanting to have more discussion etc, not just reports in the threads. Unplugged chimed in with the thought of some way to keep the discussion seperate from the reporting. This could be the perfect way. Create a wiki for the reporting, and maybe we could use the Buddy section of this board to generate some player specific discussion.

I will start pondering while we hopefully get some more people on board the BUDDY TRAIN!
