I think the kicking may have a fair bit of variance regarding results.

I think players have to run around a cone than Buckley yells a colour cone and they have to kick it to that cone. I think the cones are placed 20m, 30m and 40m apart from the kicker.

I would dare say that Buckley could yell it early or late for players, so their could be a variance their, im also unfamiliar with how much time they get after they turn or hear the call.

For me im not looking into the kicking at all, it shows to many defiancies in the test. Sheppard, Martin, Tapscott would be the 3 best kicks at AFL level for me.

I personally think it's more of a balance issue with G. Rohan. It's extremely difficult for anyone to pinpoint a pass while running flat out. A few times he's shanked it when he's actually had time to steady himself and deliver the ball.

Just needs to learn to slow down a fraction before he kicks to balance himself better for mine...

Its alot harder than you think, ive been told this so many times but its so much harder than words. I find it even harder to kick after slowing down after full speed. I agree with the comment of balance thats an issue in my kicking and im quite a quick runner aswell. Just look at Wojincki and co and see how they kick under the ultimate speed its ridiculasly hard to do.

Alot of players with elite kicks never reach high speeds that Rohan and co do. The elitest of kicks are the players that can kick to a spot where they want the player to be.

With the game becoming so handball conscius why is their only a kicking drill and not a handball drill. I would think in the modern game that handballing is jst as important, just look at geelong. They do have elite kicks but theyve also got very good handballers. Distnace and accuracy should be looked at in handballing, IMO its almost as important.

Never said it was an easy thing to do. But from my experience, if you can slow down and balance yourself a fraction before you kick, the results are generally better.

But its also about having awareness of where your opponents are and how much time you have. Occasionally, from the bits i've seen, he's just rushed his disposals when he's had a bit more time to spot up a target. But then again, a lot of other players do this too..

I really don't think its a major issue for him at all. His foot skills are very good, and the balance issue when he's running at full tilt will be sorted out when he gets into a professional AFL environment. He's very good...

After seeing a bit more of Tapscott, i reckon his kicking is somewhat over-rated. He doesn't seem to have a big range of a kicking skill set. He has a thumping boot, on either side no doubt but there is no finesse is his kicking. He is somewhat of a liability with regards to his short range passing for mine.

spot on mate ive been saying that for ages

he is easily the most overrated kid going around
mostly because of that youtube vid where he kicks a couple of long goals i suspect

can kick long but burns the ball horribly in all the sanfl games ive seen of him

Does this year group seem a bit soft??

How many players have injuries, although i dont blame the players these days. The kids are put through to much to enhance others at their worth. Hope i said that right.

Kids these days a run into the ground like the servants and their bodies simply cant handle it.

i wonder when the mugshots will be up

always good to put a face to some of the unfamiliar names

Jack Fitzpatrick came 1st in the 30m repetitve sprint, unsure what time he ran, but he did beat Patrick Dangerfields record last year, which is 2nd fastest recorded in Draft Camp

Well you'd think that tests like 20m sprints would be very important in testing the athletisicm of a key position backman such as Hurley.

C'mon Jimmy, at least speculate what they learn at draft camp. Its just a bit of networking isnt it really?
I would say the real value is the direct, quantifiable comparison.
You might know who is quick and who has good endurance, but the DC tells you who is better and who is the best, which can be a crucial deciding factor in high draft picks.
For me the beep test is the most significant test, as it not only refects aerobic fitness, but also mental toughness and tenacity, which can't always be identified or compared when watching a game.
