I wouldn't trade any of them either because they are "ours" now and we love them. It just seemed strange to go into a draft with 8 picks and not take 1 KPP. We don't have a single KPP under 22 on our main list which I find staggeringof all last years draftees who would have you forgone? personally i wouldnt trade any of hill, suban, clarke, ruffles or ballantyne for anything, and as for hall or bucovaz, both were taken so late that most of the prospective key position players were gone. thats just my view

Maybe. He doesn't look like a natural forward but I guess that could be an option. Bucovaz was also touted as a KPP but he seems way too smallMaybe they figured Clarke has the potential to spend a lot of time as a KPF while Sandi is still around?

Agree - aside from Drum in 2005, we have not used a high draft pick on a KPP since Ryan Murphy (12) in 2003.
We traded for Tarrant in 2006 because Schanolly didn't believe in drafting young talls and preferred an established KPP. The 2006 draft was quite strong in promising KPPs and we blew the Collard selection and landed Mourish at pick 89.
2006 Draft
Pick 31 - Clayton Collard
Pick 32 - Kurt Tippett
Kill me now
How?You are kidding, that is a massive error by Connolly/Smart
How?
You're talking about a guy who was talented but had mental issues versus a guy who'd played one year of football and was 2 years older than everyone. Look at the rest of the draft. Are North Melbourne ruing that they took Hansen at 3 instead of Tippett?
We were always going to pick up Collard..
He seemed a steal at pick 31 also. Their may be some of his video's floating around on you tube still, take a look. He had a heap of talent, just wasnt to be..
No doubt Collard was elite junior talent but the club knew it was a gamble because of his personality/issues.
which is why I'm liking Harvey/Bond because they seem to add more weight to the mental side of the game.

I have a feeling we are going to take Collard with our first pick ...personally I hope we grab a kid named Tippett.
Basketball background and not much footy (yes I can hear you all scream) but I have seen him play basketball and he has the athletic ability to make it.
Trust me give him a couple of year and he will kick over 50 goals a season and poll around 7 Brownlow votes ....Collard will be lucky to be on another teams rookie list by then.
but hey that is just my opinion ...bookmark this and re-post it when Collard wins the Norm Smith in 2010.
Im not sure if this has been discussed already but...
Whats everyones thoughts on this kid for a KPF??

dont know why, but i reckon if you mated adam campbell adn clancee pearce together, that is what you would get.... unsure on him. played will in that game though
