2009 Player Expectations

I was on my way to the meet & greet the other day and was walking down Royal Prd when I saw the majority of the Carlton boys leaving Visy Park to go for a run around the park. Then about 1 minute later out comes Judd from the front gate with Walker going stride for stride with him, it was just the 2 of them away from the main group. I got the distinct impression that these 2 are really pushing each other.
Both are the only 2 in our side that posses that rare physical ability of both (AFL) Elite Sprint power + (AFL) Elite Endurance.

I have a feeling that we'll see Judd back to his brilliant best next year and more importantly see an injury free Walker in his physical prime:D

We can't have Hampson in the team along with Warnock.
Hampson will be the unlucky man through the recruitment of Warnock.
Kreuzer and Cloke can both fit into the team as FP and CHF positions.
Hampson has only one string to his bow and may even see his football life away from Carlton, although I would be sorry to see this happen.

He wont see his football life go away he can always ask to go back to the gold coast, yet I think he could play backline.....why not more than athletic enough and he'll learn the game easier(3rd quickest player in our team over 20m, right?). Also who says Kreuzer won't go out of the side for the first few rounds, give Hampson a chance his body is developed more than any of them.

I reckon we could squeeze all four big men into the team at the same time.

Warnok/Hampson Ruck duties playing half the game each. Once delevloped they could get around the ground better than any other ruck combo, also could quickly get into position to a kick behind play.

Cloke = Pure CHF, massively physical and a great mark, could play a hamill type role.

The Kruz = huge talent, motor and size with good mittens. Could play permanent foward/wing richo style position. Imagine him running his undersized slower oponents in and out of our forward line, providing an option up the ground then doubling back and being a target in the 50.

I'm getting excited about it already.
Warnock/hampson (fresh as a dasiy sharing ground time) dominating the hitouts to our A+ quailty mids, who then stream into the forward line and have not just fev, but kruz and cloke aswell charging all over the 50 with yarran and betts to finish off if it hits the ground.

Will probs be 2010 till our bigs beome elite though.

Sounds exciting, also I reckon Kreuzer is pshyically to small to play ruck for a majority of the game next year maybe a pinch hit thats it

Will Aaron Joseph get a game this year?

Joseph would have cracked a game in 2006 and 2007, but I can't see him playing a game in our current midfield unless there's an injury. *touchwood*

Joseph's pace would be another piece of the puzzle if he can improve his disposal and put on some size.

I would hate to see Joseph develop in the VFL like Davenport at Geelong and get snapped up by another club because we have too many midfielders. :thumbsd:
I would have related him more to Fisher and Edwards, and ahead of both.
Wiggins is ahead of Edwards at the moment, but he isn't ahead of Fisher who played close to his best game in round 21.

eddie betts has improved every year and will have a heaps better season next season, 30 + goals. If Betts is traded i would be full on shattered massive
