If our leading goalkicker only scores in the 30s then we will struggle for the 8.

Not necessarily, we made top 8 last season with our leading goalkicker scoring mid 30's. We actually had a couple who kicked 30+ goals

I like the fact that we don't rely on one superstar to carry us - it would be nice to have one consistent, confident goal kicker like a Buddy, Fev, Richo or Pav but it makes it harder for the other team's defence when they don't know which Crow is going to have a cracker of a game :)

We struggled to make the 8 last year and at the end of the day finished 8th. I would agree with Stones Throw, a leading scorer of low to mid 30s would be a disappointment for AFC. We desperately need a 50 plus target supported by at least one 30 odd goal scorer. With that, we still maintain our flexibility up forward but can kick game winning scores.

I'd be hoping Porps can kick about the 50 mark and be supported by Tippey with something in or around the 30 mark. If Tex manages over 20 for the season we should be delighted, if he gets 30 plus we should be delerious.

And yet we were a Bee's proverbial or perhaps just a slightly less pathetic Essendon side from making the top 4 and we actually finished 7th at the end of the day, the Roos finished 8th.

I wouldn't say we exactly "struggled" to make the 8, it wasn't easy like in 05/06, we were made to work for it.

Jesus.Hows the pressure on Taylor Walker to perform :D

Leading goal kickers all-round, for a teenager who hasnt played a game

I was thinking the same thing :) Never played a game and expected to kick 40+ goals :) Not asking much.

Good Goly Miss Moly!

Definately capable, but I personally hope he's spending too much time in the middle for 56 worth.

I don't think we'll see much of Porps in the middle this year. NC has made mention of him as a forward quite a bit this year already. We need a decent target up forward, and despite the hype on this board (and everywhere else), we cannot rely on Walker to be our go to man, its both unfair and unrealistic. With Burton out, Porps will play the majority of the year up forward.

No doubt we had a few things go in our favour last year and were unlucky not to make the 4 in the end. However others will not doubt not agree but IMO I think the comp in 2008 made us look better than we were.

I think both Adelaide teams have a chance of winning the whole lot this year.
