Just traded out Kerr for Skipworth and Scott Selwood out for Leigh Harding.

Latter was the tougher one as was either gonna go for that or Kreuzer for Leunberger (but will do that next week with $60,000 to spend).

If Zahrakis backs it up next week, he's definitely coming in for Swift or Davenport also.

Thought i'd try to do a really quick summary of popular trade outs/ins:

Trade outs:

Hill: Scored at an average of 69 in pre-season with scores of 79, 61, 68 but at afl level has scored at an average 25 with scores of 34 and 17. 4 disposals on Sunday puts his spot under question with Broughton and De Boer knocking on the door as rookie replacements.

Breakeven of 56 so no point waiting till after price change to trade out if want a Cheney or a Rance (nets an extra $56,000).

Ottens: 4-6 week injury but Geelong will wait until he's 110% before playing him so thinking 6 weeks is more accurate, especially if west or mumford play well with Blake as no. 1 ruckman. Also he took awhile to return to dt best last year after his injury (ave of 66 for nine rounds following his return in rd 10 but are different injuries so could be irrelevant)

Raines: Think his rebounding potential is greater with McMahon out but still needs 20+ possies to reach 70 pts (eg.Rnd 1). Everyone knew this going in with him at season start so even with a predicted rd 6 return, many will hold onto him.

Cash Cow quality if return rd 6

Price*: Ave 70 - Peak at around $270,000 rd 12 ($82,000 increase)
Ave 75 - Peak at around $290,000 rd 13 ($102,000 increase)
Ave 80 - Peak at around $310,000 rd 14 ($122,000 increase

*using tooserious.net

Popular trade ins:

Kreuzer: Downgrade option for Ottens or underperforming ruck (eg.Simmonds if you watched Geelong game). Could easily average 70+ if Carlton keep up its chipping around style. Very mobile for a ruckmen and can push forward to take a mark and goal (14 in 22 games). Scores of 100 and 80 to start season are very promising.

Ellis: Would wait until next week before trading in as didn't play rnd 1 but is a potential keeper at $324,000. Moved to the midfield late last year and averaged 88 from rnd 16-22* (ave 93 inc finals). Top scored for hawks on saturday with 82 and it was against dt killers sydney which is a good sign.
*missed rd 21 injured

There are more trades out there like Anthony to Otten/Rich but don't have time atm. Feel free to add or argue with anything i've written :)

I will most likely use a trade to upgrade my backline, as it's looking rather shaky having to play two youngsters in Cheney and Petrenko for the time being until they, along with other cashcows, appreciate in price enough for me to upgrade them. Thus, i need those other 4-5 defenders, of which i consider to be keepers, to be consistent in their high scoring - each of which i am confident will do... except Malceski.

So it appears at the moment Malceski is my prime trade target as i don't think he's going to meet the scoring expectations/output that i think his price tag should warrant. I had big things for him, although fear Shaw and Mattner are instead being played in the sweeping defender role that Kennelly played so well before he left.

Plus i have another player in my sights anyway who i wanted to select in Malceski's place in my side initially, although they were injured during the PS so my hand was forced towards selecting Malceski as the replacement option. Seeing as though they've now come back and performed to my expectations, they look to be the suitable replacement. :cool:

I reckon everyone here knows who that is ;)

Most likely Hill to Cheney.

Gives me a backline of

Hodge, Goddard, Fisher, Chornes, Dempsey, Petrenko, Cheney (Raines, Broughton)

Dempsey should definitely keep getting games. Was close to being dropped but showed good skills yesterday, hard to drop now. Cheney as well IMO, despite his apparently poor (? didnt watch) game this week. No one to replace him as well I think? Plus it's probably a good idea to continue playing the kid in the Demons' side. Petrenko is iffy, depends on Bock and Stevens. Hopefully Broughton plays this week to cover if needed. And Raines should be back in 4 weeks.

But jeez it sucks that the positions of Petrenko, Hill, Broughton, Cheney might not be definitely known til AFTER lockout. A few ppl will probably be affected by this.

Mids: Will keep Anthony as Beams will cover for a while.

Rucks: No issues. Cox and Hille.

Fwds: No issues. Ziebell should continue playing. Got Walker and Brown as solid replacements. No one else to trade to here anyway. The trades I'm looking forward to though are Skippy --> Riewoldt; Houlihan ---> Pavlich; Higgins --> J Brown sometime soon :D

I'm probably going to be downgrading Ottens to either Hmac or Cruizer. Probably Cruizer considering I want to UPGRADE Raines as opposed to DOWNGRADE. I'll browse through my options. I'll probably be doing 2 trades this round unless I'm convinced Raines is worth keeping *Whispers* It's not happening, I have Raines' replacement, Alex Rance on my field

I'm hoping Hill gets one more game so he can get some value after his 3rd game. After round 1, I didn't want him playing on the field so Suban was there instead. Now I need Hill to just get 1 massive game where he's the go-to man and Junktime hero.

Well I'm definitely trading Hentschel out for Skipworth. Just not sure if I should downgrade Raines or Hill to get the cash. Depends who is more likely to return...

Hmmm think I may have worked out a very nice little stratergy for my trading this week. We all believe that Hill is likely to get dropped so instead of trading him now, I might just hold onto him and look at fixing up another area that I need to repair. The reason being is his price wont drop if he doesn't play and the player I want to replace him with wont increase this week either so there is no real need to rush that trade. However another cashcow is set to rise dramatically this week and I want to be on that train when it departs the station as I think he could be this years Palmer (I think we all know who I am talking about here). The other trade I need to make is finding an Ottens replacement. Had 3 choices in mind but with this new plan I need to go with the cheapest of the 3 options but I think he will work out very well for me.

so you'll wait with hill cuz rance has 1 more game before increase and you dont want to miss out on daniel rich and the other trade is otten to kreuzer?:p

also, if raines needs avg80 to increase 122k by rd14 then it is hardly worth keeping him no? could do hill to cheney/rance and then raines to houlihan but i still dont trust houlihan

RT what are the chances Rance is in the 22 now?

I'm in the same situation, thinking of downgrading hill, but if he is selected...most likely he will lose money this week.

About 460k in the bank.
Players I want to get rid of are Raines(maybe) Haselby(maybe), hill, Anthony

possible trades are:
Anthony --> Robbinson
Hill --> Cheny or Harding or basically anyone

Will brett harvey pick up his consistant 95av. form? What about Haselby? Will hille pick up his form too?
If you disagree with my thoughts please tell me what you think...
Cheers

I still can't believe people trade on a Monday. Really makes it hard to take people's opinions on here seriously when they're so willing to potentially **** up their team before every round.

I just completed two trades.

Hill -------> Cheney
Raines -------> Hurn

I still can't believe people trade on a Monday. Really makes it hard to take people's opinions on here seriously when they're so willing to potentially **** up their team before every round.

Tell me about... see Monday trades happen and just hope that there's a "hurn injured in training" and "Cheney dropped" media release during the week to teach people lesson not to trade until the teams are out...

More surprising is that some are experienced dt'ers. Not too worry, they will be gone from the boards by July.

it is quite amazing. hopefully cheney gets dropped this week or something else during the year. usually nothing happens though my friend does it and has never got caught.

is hill-> cheney/rance (who would you go) and raines -> houlihan too sideways?

i missed carl brisbane game but people say he looks good as he gets many handball receives and kicks some goals. i was sure he would avg about 70-75 but maybe not. seems like best option at the moment and could be a good 7th back saver. would love opinions.
are people going to keep him whole year with 75-80avg or does he need to keep 85+?

I'm looking at downgrading T.Tuck to Rich then upgrading Raines to Ellis or someone. Just can't keep having Hill starting..also peed off about not having Rich.

I have the same problems, Raines/Hurley/Hill. Loathed to do 2 trades yet. Leaning towards just 1 trade and that means pissing Hill off, who to I don't know yet.

So far this is what I want to do:
Westhoff -----> Skipworth
Raines -------> Ellis

Not sure if I should do Raines to Ellis this week or not. Would be good to know how Ellis goes against different types of teams, (Sydney and Kangaroos) before I get him.

But there is aso the risk that Hill gets dropped. Then I'll have to go forwrd with the Raines trade. ATM I'm happy with Raines on the bench.

I thinking of trading Troy Selwood for one of Otten/Beams/Zaharakis.

I'm leaning towards Zaharakis because he is in form and will get a game. But Otten will go up this week and he is the perfect cash cow but will he hold his spot?
Beams will gun it whenever he plays but will he?
