If Rafa wasn't left handed I'd probably be favouring Federer but should be a close tense match. Hopefully Rafa will get over the line again.

Rafa to close off his great year with a tough 3 set win. Should hopefully be a good final considering how lacklusture this YEC has been apart from a couple of matches.

Cant believe no one is giving Fed a chance to win? its indoors, slow yes, but low bouncing. Secondly rafa played over 5 hours in the last couple of days. Remember what happened to him in Madrid after that epic encounter with Nole.He just stood there and fed thrashed him on clay.I think Fed will win, he owns Nadal on indoor surfaces and probably the only surface he can beat Nadal at the moment.Heres hoping i am wrong, but i dont think i am

As expected Fed won, as i said above, the ball just doesnt bounce high enough on his court for rafa to generate enough bounce to create problems for roger.Robbie Koenig said on clay it bounces on average of 1.40 m and here bit bounces 1.09.That is a huge difference. Its that simple really, the slice serve from fed was working magic cause it bites the surface and skids through. No bounce.Rafa didnt chase quite a few balls though, which was kinda weird, maybe he was visibly tired.Federer played really well all week and deserved the title.Great to see Fedal back in action again and i hope they get to meet at the final of A.O too

It's nice to see some balanced comment from TP giving Fed some credit. We won't be seeing 2004/07 again. That is gone. However i am surprised to see him put together wins VS the other top players ( Murray. Djoko, Nadal ) in the same event. I though that was now beyond him and it probably is except in the very biggest events. I'd love to see him get somne fire back and got to the AO competitive.

Federer remaining a power in tennis is great for the game. I want the rivalry to continue for a couple more years. Hopefully they meet in a slam final again. It would be great if Roger could do something in London in 2012.

how long will you be making that excuse? this tournament he played at his very best, this was probably better than his 2007 form.Whether he can hold it or not, thats another thing.I guess in AO we will find out if he is a form-fraud or not.If he loses AO this year, he can virtually kiss the number 1 spot goodbye cause rafa only made the quarters last year.So if Fed loses to rafa in the finals even, fed will lose 2000 points+ to rafa.

P.S Memo to GT.Where have you been this year? have you ever given credit to rafa? do you take back your ridiculous comments like :Rafa is a claycourter, he will never beat Nole or Murray off clay, etc etc? I am giving credit when deserved, yet you were nowhere to be found this year. I bet you still think nadal is a claycourt moonballer.

Rafa could win 20 slams and I would still be indifferent just as I was basically indifferent to Sampras blasting his way to titles and Agassi running down balls on the way to his. I would accept Rafa's ability but be unmoved by his aesthetically unattractive play. Only two tennisplayers have ever really excited me. McEnroe and Federer. The likes of Sampras, Agassi, Nadal etc are commendable and all great players but are frankly dull and grinding athletes compared to the art of McEnroe or Federer.

I am a fan of beautiful strokeplay and make no apology for that so when the slams are being won by grinding athleticism I turn off my interest level. When the artist comes to life I am interested. That's me. I don't expect everyone to be the same.

PS I don't think Fed will hold his form. In his 30th year a tennisplayer is always on the wane. Fed will not and actually probably cannot return to his 2004/07 level. No 29 year old does.

Beautiful is subjective.I think rafas game is beautiful and i love the way he adapts his game and serve 135 mph serves now on hardcourts. You dont find that amazingly or even appreciate that fact? how he flattened his forehand and takes the ball early even? watch the murray vs rafa game, Rafa didnt even chase that hard, murray did all the running, thats truly amazing, dont you think? i dont expect you to appreciate that but really you cannot be that one eyed.

But what i ask of you is can you appreciate the fact that you were wrong on rafa? you said he was finished and done and a claycourt bully. You can dislike Sampras but you cannot deny he is one of the best.If you do, you would look stupid. You childish predictions have dented our reputation (if you ever had any) in this forum mate, atleast i have the balls to face it, you dont even accept that you were wrong

P.S Rafa even kicked feds ass when he was on his prime.
