Round 7 Captain

With Ablett's likely return to Geelong's lineup, a lot of people would be jumping back on him. Rediculous average agaisnt the Swans of recent times.

For the ones who don't have Ablett, Pavlich and Sandilands again look a good option. Hodge is in some super form and will continue agaisnt West Coast you'd think. Of course Chapman is in amazing form aswell, could be a great choice.

As for me, pending on his return, it goes to Ablett. But this is the week I won't be too upset if he has a stinker.

If Ablett doesn't play i'll probably go to Boomer or Browndog.

Boomer averages 129 from 7 games against the Pies with scores like - 115, 145, 152, 88, 93, 184, 129.

He also scored 41 last week so if his 11 to 176 is any kind of formline he'll be repaying the faith this week... (well he better )

Jon Brown averages a ridiculous 136 against Freo with scores of 131, 116, 95, 189 and 147.

Hoping GAJ gets up though his last 4 scores against the Swans are 164, 155, 254 and 122

His score was scaled up that game. Massive last quarter, where he had about 11 touches and kicked 3 goals. Wow.

Was brutal, i didn't have Gary at the time so went with Bartel and he got around 170 i think, my opponent had Gary. Game Over

Anyone brave enough to have Dal Santo as captain this week after his 40 odd shocker last week??

I have him set at the moment but am ummming and ahhing about it..

Surely he'll bounce back and rip it up...surely??

Round 9 - NON GAJ Captain Discussion

I realised the for all that have him GAJ is a lock for captain, but for those without him (and have not given up) or those who are looking to make-up some points/ground if Gaz has a quiet one, who are some captain possiblities for round 9.

Though I have GAJ i am seriously considering giving Big Sandilands the C this week for the following reasons:

1. has been in red-hot form
2. coming up against Swans with no Mumford, and no Seaby
3. Rucking against a Canadian (Mike Pyke)
4. Playing at the SGC, tight lots of congestions (ball-ups) and contested marks
5. No (presumably) Michael Johnson so will ruck a lot and rest forward.

Thoughts on other potential captains.

I don't have Ablett, but Sandilands is my captain....

Howeve, just be wary that a few people jumped of Ablett when he played Joseph and he absolutely smashed it....I think it was the round of 171

Step 2: Trade up midfielder to Ablett
Step 3: Hit the (C) button next to Ablett

You found more reasons to choose Kennedy as captain than to not choose Ablett? Wowzer.

Without looking at any of the games, Hodge, Judd or Chappy would be my choices each week.

For the record, Sandi averages 77 against Sydney and 65 at the SCG although it's fair to say that should change this week.

First thought coming to mind was Sandi... even though I have Ablett as well.

Others Would be Hodge, Goddard, and Selwood. (All of which I have)

Or Judd (who I don't have) against the Hawks who haven't really fired a shot this year.

as mentioned the premise of this post and any furture capitain discusions is not to say that GAJ is not capitain material but to discuss that if, for any stupid reason you do not have GAJ, OR you may want to go a unique to make up ground or win a league match.

Remember the further the season goes on the more the top teams start to look alike making it harder to catch up and as 95-99% of people with GAJ make him captain each week, that provides a sitiuation if you can make a calculated risk you can climb the ladder quickly.

EG Nearly all the good teams have GAJ and Sandilands in their teams, if you had of rolled the dice and made Sandi your captain last round you could have gained many positions on the teams around you

48 point the diff or the diff b/w position 1000 and 790.

I have GAJ as will most likely make him captain this week, as with most things Increased risk equals increase reward.

i got sandi as my captain this week..swapped swan for him as captain on monday...
