I thought about Cooney too, but came to the conclusion that I just don't have the balls to do it.

Re: Round 2 Captaincy

Word of warning ... be careful selecting Swannie. I am not having Dane as captain this week took Sam Mitchell as captain last week against the Dees and thought James McDOnald did a really good tagging job.

I am sure they will play McDonald on Swan as they dont have anyone who could go head to head against him like a Geelong or Bulldogs tend to do who can hurt Swan going the other way and are happy to allow Swannie to pick up a pot load of possessions.....

I have decided to go with Big Sandy thought he was huge against Crows last week playing the entire game on the park, use of the football was fantastic and should have the better of Hille and has a good record against the Bombers.

RE: McDonald taking up Swan... Still think Swan can thump out a great SC score none-the-less (IMO).

Not that I think it's a good idea putting Ball in as Captain has even a hint of good idea attached to it... Ball should score a tad better than last week given Melbourne's lack of depth to go with him. Which (if you have Ball & Swan) could somewhat offset the risk of Swan not racking them up as you predict. However, I predict Swan pulling in a decent score with Ball at the very least increasing on last weeks efforts. Not saying Swan should be captain, but just for those without another great option (e.g. Ablett or Roo:eek::eek:), it may be a comforting thought if you also have Ball as 'back-up' points scorer this week.

Thanks to calf concerns with Ablett (and his pretty average score last week) I'm starting to doubt my 'set & 4get' strategy of captain selection. I'm thinking I'll go ROO against Nth Melb. I reckon he's got another 150+ up his sleeve against them.

PS: Heck, I could go for Bazza!! He's bound to do better this week... I mean... it's Richmond. :p

Re: Round 2 Captaincy

I agree about Ablett. I've had him as my 'set and forget' captain for three years but am very tempted to go with Riewoldt this week. The problem is that as soon as you do it Ablett will pull out a 180 /200. It's just difficult not to pick a bloke as captain that averages so much more than his nearest rival. And really, why would I fork out $744,000 for a player and not make them captain?

Re: Round 2 Captaincy

I had J. Brown locked in before you said that......

Cooney against the Tigers now. Who's going to stop him?

Re: Round 2 Captaincy

I have Sandilands and Hille is my 2nd ruck.

Hoping Hille kicks 4-5 goals cause he sure as hell wont get many hitouts. :p

That's my ruck combo as well which has me a little concerned, except I can't put Warnock on the field instead of Hille because I know he's going to get towelled tonight. :D

Actually it's leaving me tempted to bet that Hitchcock gets more points than Hille and doing the MPP shuffle.

Re: Round 2 Captaincy

Ablett (c)
Selwood (vc)

Might be just me, but I've got a funny feeling that one of those two might struggle to crack the ton

Hopefully just some pre-lock-out anxiety...

Roo against the kangas is bound to bag a few good points this week IMO... And while I have Ablett I reckon I may go the punt on ROO...

***And then Ablett gets 180+ and ROO pulls a hammy and thankyou Irene I'm down a keeper and 200 odd points. ;)

Re: Round 2 Captaincy

Ablett is a no brainer for me, he consistantly gets high scores and has a good record against north
