Re: Round 3 captain?

Remember last year when Ablett was a lock-in captain...

Arrggh!! the good ol' days... Less headaches.. Too many choices just means more chance of me stuffing it up..

Last year Ablett was consistently out scoring everyone in the comp with 140+ each week... Now he his being consistently outscored by Roo, ROK and JB.... Hard to make him a "perma captain" when I know my main league rival has locked Roo in from round 1, and has been smashing me!!

Re: Round 3 captain?

Tossing up between ROK and Riewoldt.
Those are the options this week imo.

surley you dont want him as your captain....

Re: Round 3 captain?

Ryan O'Keefe for me. Swans will take about 2000 of the 3300 and with each swan avaeraging close to 100 points each, O'Keefe should be at the top.

Re: Round 3 captain?

Learnt my lesson last week giving the big C to swan over ablett and won't be making that mistake again!!

Re: Round 3 captain?

The more I think about it the sillier it seems to not give Ablett the big C this week.

His last game againts Freo netted him a comfortable 142 points. He had a below par game of 98 before that and an 81 to half time before being injured last year.

Couple that with his average game last week and I recon he is in for a big one.

Having said that, ROK and Dal are very tempting.

Why Dal? He is up against a tough mid, and a tough team they should win but I cant see them getting more than 1800 of the 3300 points against the pies, ad to that the strong team he has around him, Montagna, Hayes, Roo, Goddard and Armitage can all score big. Then you hav Didak, Neon Leon, Swan, Ball and Pendles. This is gunna be a bad week for me with 5 or 6 of players in that game.

Do you recall the last time we faced Collingwood in a home-and-away match?

Dal got 152 last time, not sure if he will get that again, but he could well do that.

Re: Round 3 captain?

Everyone going with Ablett will regret it. All i have to say.

Re: Round 3 captain?

If the Pies werent playing the saints i would go with Montagna or Roo

But i cant bring myself to put an opposition player, against the Pies, as captain. Except when its Ablett.
I cant bring myself to will an opponent for a good game. I know in SC you shouldnt let feelings get in the way, but i cant help it :p

Despite the fact that i have 4 saints in my team, i hope they all have shockers.

Ablett as captain for me

Re: Round 3 captain?

I've had Roo captain the last 2 weeks and I've been very happy with him.. Hopefully he keeps it up

Re: Round 3 captain?

This is a myth from 2008 where he had his 2 worst scores for the year were against them, the first match he was well beaten the second match he was clear best on ground at half time sitting on about 70 odd points before he hurt his ankle and Bomber took his careful approach with Gaz.

Last year he did well from memory, I'm gonna keep it with Gaz but ROK against the Tigers is playing on my mind a lot. He is in sensational touch at the minute.

Yep, 146 points rd 22 lasr year, but no Crowley playing for Freo. Crowley playing this week.

Hardwick may well send Jackson to ROK, whether nor not he can stop him is another thing.

Tough one...

Don't think Hardwick will play Jackson to RO'k, because he is such an offensive player, Jackson tends to play on the 'true' midfield type players, some of his scalps are Boyd, Priddis, Swan, Watson, Judd and Gibbs just to name a few. Should more than likely play on Kirk.

Last year he tagged Kirk and picked up 9 tackles v Syd, Kirk only had 14 possies but kickd 3 goals. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 3 captain?

It's killing me Roo or ROK can we get a clear winner?

Re: Round 3 captain?

Dal Santo against Collingwood is looking very tempting.

Great history against them, had a good game last week so he's in form, and Collingwood have no true taggers to lock him down. Dal without a tag hanging off him usually produces the goods.

152, 119, 145, 142, 132, 112, 140 are some of his scores against Collingwood since 2005 (had a 78 and got dropped the next week IIRC and his only other score was an 80).

With no tagger, and Dal hitting some form last week, I expect something similar.

But I have a feeling about Ablett...
