Re: Round 3 captain?

Jake King got dropped, right? :D

Not that it matters that much, but I like RoK's odds now.

Having said that, I'm still probs gunna go with Roo
Jake king plays fwd now anyway, so doesn't matter. But look out for white, he plays as our 2nd tagger and he mite take kirk while Jackson takes RO'k

I'm slightly off RO'k now, coz we have some strong inclusions and some weak players are out. Inclusions are Cousins, Tuck, Polo, Rance, White and Roberts, some good names in there, while most of last weeks spuds have been dropped including Farmer, Hislop and King, only big out is Thurstfield with a leg injury. This game may not be the 100 point flogging every 1 is expecting, i think it might only be 20 points, we played well against them in round 7 last year.

Think I might go for NDS or Roo. Or the safe bet in Ablett who is playing bad and still scoring 120s

Re: Round 3 captain?

Do you recall the last time we faced Collingwood in a home-and-away match?

Dal got 152 last time, not sure if he will get that again, but he could well do that.
Actually a smart idea as the Pies never tag Dal and he carves them up every time.

Re: Round 3 captain?

I wish I had the balls to go Seaby...I still haven't totally discounted it. As unique as it gets for captain and he's up against less than nothing this week. Simmonds will be half dead by quarter-time with his current fitness compared to Seaby and Vickery more than likely doesn't stand a chance in the hitouts.

On top of that Thursfield is out, which is just the ultimate nightmare for Richmond coming up against Sydney's talls - Goodes, Bradshaw, White plus Grundy, Seaby and Mumford rotating through. If McGuane takes Bradshaw at FB, Moore will likely get Goodes, leaving Rance for White I guess, then Richmond is in deep strife about who to play on any other tall who floats down there.

We only have four other talls: Simmonds, Vickery, Post, Reiwoldt. Do we play with no ruckmen or no key forwards to cover one or two of the other three talls Sydney can throw forward?

If Seaby goes forward he'll have a serious mismatch or Simmonds and you'd think he'd be likely to add 2-3 more to his 2 goals from last week.

30 hitouts+ and a once a season chance of making them to advantage, 2-3 goals, plenty of ball running old man Simmonds ragged...136 from him last week...there's some merit in the madness. ;)

You forgot Rance, Mcguane, Moore and Tuck.

You shouldnt right off your team quite so badly, The Midfield named is Simmonds, Tuck, D-lids, Martin, Cotchin and Jackson. Also a strong Backline has been named with Newman, Moore, Mcguane, Rance, Connors, Polo, Edwards. I just dont see were we can score goals with the a guy who loves to drop sitters playing at full foward (Post). Just cant wat for Benny Griffiths to start playing, he will be a star!

Anyway back on subject, you would have to be a brave (or stupid) man to play him as your CPT. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 3 captain?

i think every tema would have better options then Seaby for captain so in my view it would be stupid.

I just cant decide on Ablett or O'Keffe this week, i feel safer with Ablett but ROK could do anything against the insipid tigers

Extremely confident that Kirk will be doing some tagging himself, not getting tagged. McVeigh normally cops the opposition's best stopper.

Re: Round 3 captain?

a lot of people are jumping off ablett after 2 rounds...... he wants another brownlow and I reckon he will have to fire eventually.... maybe it might be this week against freo?

I dont think it will be this week, he is flying Perth on a 6 day break, on that large ground against his most hated opponent (in Crowley) and playing in what I think will be a Fremantle win.

Ive also got goddard, hodge, enright, selwood, reiwold, jb, coon, nds as captain options....

who should I pick?

Re: Round 3 captain?

Enright, Goodwin or Hodge for me....all average over 120 against the teams they are playing this weekend.

I think you're the only bloke that has mentioned Hodge so far.

Has pulled out some massive scores against the Dogs.. averaging 141 :eek: from his last 5 starts.

I'm thinking of going with him if only because everyone else seems to be going with Roo or ROK.

Re: Round 3 captain?

Only 2 games in and everyones jumping off ablett.

Roo scored over 100 in 14 out of 21 games last year pretty good but i just can't choose forwards as captains, ROK, 12 of 22 games, not too bad and ablett, 16 out of 19 games, champ!

127 and a 128 this year after what was said to be bad games for him. happy to keep him captain after scores like that.
Sure, freo's he's "kryptonite" as some may say, they sure didn't stop him waltzing to a 156 in round 22 last year

hope you all jump off gaz and get tought a lesson, he's a champ, crowley couldnt even stop watson (who's a damn good player, don't get me wrong, but he's no ablett) from scoring 110+ last week.

hope roo scores 70, ROK 80 (both in my team mind you) and Gaz smashes out a 175+:p

Re: Round 3 captain?

If you select Ablett every week as captain you can't win.

Re: Round 3 captain?

ottens has been a late withdrawal from the freo game.... i wonder if sandi is up for a massive score?

Dawson simpson, ottens' replacement, is a pretty decent ruckman who played a pretty good practise vfl game with some good hitouts and decent disposal count. 206cm, 105kg, has 4cm on ottens. Might not do as good a job on Lurch as ottens+blake but they're not bringing in a <200cm ruckman either.
