Round 13 Captain Selection

Post questions about captaincy here.

Anyone else considering giving luke hodge captain over ablett and goddard?
Hodge vs dons could rip it up

I'm probably going go Ablett. Hodge or Goddard is mighty tempting though.

I remember Hodge got smashed by Monfries last year. But now he is playing in the guts, and Monfries is injured.

It will be either him or Gazza that's for sure. I might try and use that partial lockout thing!

Not Ablett, only because he's playing the Saints.

Therefore, Hodge will get the VC. He does well, I'll give some non-player the C. He doesn't do well, Goddard it is.

Ablett thanks, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Every time I don't give Ablett the cpataincy I have paid for it!

Because of the split round, could we put Hodge as Vice Captain, and then, if he scores high, just make your captain someone like Jono Brown, who won't play??

Only querie with this, as i havent tried it before, is if after the first weekend, if it will let you change a captain option, or if you must choose both captain and vice captain initially.

Anyone know???

will it allow you to change your captain option to a player playing in the 1st week? I would make hodge vice and Brown captain, but after the friday ngiht if Hodge scores poorly i would of though that Brown whose lions are playing Saturday night would be locked in and unable to be changed

The injured (and out-of-form) Johnno Brown?

I'm also thinking of doing the unthinkable and taking the C of GAJ. I've done it 3 times in 3 years, and he's scored 254 & a couple of 150+'s, but I reckon it's time. He looks out of sorts, and with Goddard, Hodge, Montagna etc, I think there are better options this week.

Goddard is the new ablett, look at his scores, why would anyone be scared to put the C on him ? I had him captain until 5 minutes to lockout and changed it to ablett at the nth moment..lost my game by 50..

then after the split round either leave it on judd, or move the c back to ablett as I have done every week this year (except the week roo went down!).....

it feels dodgy but I see it as a loophole to be taken advantage of.....

Surely that doesn't work....

It did in the first week. People put their VC on someone in Carlton/Richmond and if they scored well, they didn't name a captain. This would be similar I assume.

So if i understand this correctly: I'll make Hodge (backline) my vice-captain and Ablett (mid) my Captain. And if i'm really happy with Hodge's score, i substitute Ablett for someone who is not playing in the second week (Luke Ball hopefully [mid also]) and give Captain to Ball and emergency to Ablett so i still get his normal score?

Wow thats hard to work out, but i think i have it?

Yes you can, read the post above yours. In fact you have two options on the bench rather than one, consider yourself lucky

does it work the other way around if i put my capt say it frankin say if he does crap, my vice will be ablett, i just sub frankin out for a guy who not playing next week and still get the score an ablett become capt ?

If you make franklin captain its locked in once he plays. You can't sub him, or move the captaincy. In other words don't make someone in the first week captain.

I'm playing Hodge (VC) and Ablett (C). If hodge pulls out a 150+ i'll move the captaincy from GAJ to Phil Davis (Crows will probably play him and make me leave it on GAJ anyway)

Still doesn't help me as no one on my bench is playing in the 2nd week meaning they will all be locked after this week.
