I am very seriously considering changing from Ablett to Bartel given how good he is in the wet.

Just worried Gazza will come out and have about 37 touches if I do.

I have Goddard but I fear who is tagging who tonight, so I chose a player who isn't playing tonight and went with someone who can crack 200 if all the planets align. I think in tonight's game, the SC scoring will be very well spread.

Spewing about this weather, needed a miracle to begin with, & was nervous already about fielding 8 players in one match (GAJ, Enright, Selwood, Pods, Goddard, Gilbert, Dal Santo & Montagna). Needed big 100's from them all to be any hope whatsoever.

Sticking with GAJ for skipper. The "what if..." factor too much to ignore.

Got to pick either Selwood Goodes or Pendlebury as a differential as my opponent has none of those but has Ablett and used Hodge as captain. Also he is up by about 80 points with one extra player.. any thoughts?? I'm leaning towards Selwood as Chaps is out and it's a contested type of night..

Phew! Considered Goddard, glad i stuck with GAJ. Definitely a dealbreaker in moving up a few ranks in the hope quite a few in the top 500 somewhere went Goddard as captain.

Not sure why I ever doubted Gaz as skip. 2 mins to go it was Super Selwood.. then Gaz man as I thought.. What the hell, i'll get burnt if I change! Glad I stuck with.. No doubt he will lose about 10 points for rounding!!

If you picked any one of Goddard, Dal, Montags, Gaz, Selwood you would be fairly happy..

For the first time in 2yrs i put someone other than gablett as capt, contemplated Goddard but thought Ling would go to him.
Picked Hodge, got a 134 instead of 308, costly much?

The only time I got stung was in 08 against Sydney. The week I got him for Pendlebury (first year I played SC = no idea lol). Also the week he scored his 254. I will never ever doubt the little master. 1 or 2 bad weeks then a very nice SC score .. Always happens. Oh well, you will know for next time!

Fully agree. No matter what, without question Ablett should always be captain.

I've never moved that C from him and very happy i didn't this week

Used Judd as my VC in the "attempt to get an advantage loophole" who scored an ordinary, 97. Better than Hodge, but not good enough. Flirted with Goddard and even Montagna but decided that they'd score much better in the dry. In the end, my faith in GAJ has been rewarded.

Had Goddard as captain the whole split round, but changed back to Ablett in the last 10 minutes before lockout. Heard the game was going to be really wet, Gaz is a beast in bad conditions. Goddard still scored well, but stoked with the great mans 154.

Good timing too, I think a lot of people would have looked elsewhere given his past 5 weeks - only averaging 113.

Goddard doesnt hurt that much only cost me 27 points in the end so it wasn't the disaster I was fearing but probably will mean I go back to Ablett next week.

My problem in moving up spots won't be due to my Captain choice but more likely the fact that I had Kruezer, Hurn, Gumby & Pods on field.

Round 14 Captain

With round 14 starting on Thursday night with the Lions v Blues match will we see the partial lockout again? As we won't see finalised side for the Sunday matches till Friday night.
This will give us another crack at the 'Double Dip Captaincy' option again although only with the players from this match > Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, Rockliff, Brown? possible options.

Pretty sure the only partial lockout after Round 1 was for the split round.

There's no real need for a partial lock-out this round.

It would be very handy.... dunno if it is a partial this week, they usually dont announce it till the teams are named though.

Ablett for me too, he killed north last time they played from memory.
