what kind of AFL player does he play like?
Armfield? Could he play a tag instead?
I'd rather go for a rebounding defender that can play 3rd tall too

The way he runs is very much like how Wojinkski runs from defense but he is much more stronger and better defensively than him also for some reason he really does remind me of Dane Swan the way he can run through a pack and barge through opponents. Yeah I think he could do Armfields tagging job, I feel he is a better kick than Armfield and I would say just as strong with speed wise very similar if not faster! I think we also need a 3rd tall who can rebound but I also feel we need some small defenders that have very good foot skills, definsively are sound and can take the opposition on, Puopolo could be that for us I feel:)

Dude, If you hadve posted Robotech, Astroboy and/or Shirls neighborhood up there as well, you would have become the most awesome person.

Ever.

Love the meltdown, especially last year. :thumbsu:
This year's meltdown could be due to Carlton possibly passing on Watson and draft McCarthy who isn't a group think favourite.

If track record is anything to go by, Carlton would be lucky to get McCarthy and Tape who both played with Glenelg.

2004: Russell and Hartlett.
2006: Gibbs and Austin.
2007: Armfield and Ellard.
2008: Yarran and Garlett.

Get it done Hughesy!

Memorandum in forward: Good luck Mr. Hughes and co. with our selections this year.

Just imagine this board if we had have had Ports '09 selections in:
8: Butcher
9: Moore
16: Pittard

A combined solitary game so far this season between all three, for a bottom of the table team.
Irrespective of the circumstances there would have been blood.

Yeah We are so devestated about those choices, Success is long term my friend!

2010 NAB AFL Draft - Order of Selection

Picks 18, 33, 41, 67, 70, 87, 104, 121 & 138

Carlton Ready for National Draft and 2011
“We are very pleased with the trades we have made during the last week and believe we have made important decisions that will benefit the team going forward. Importantly we have recruited players who are very keen to be at Carlton and want to be a part of a successful Carlton Football Club,” said General Manager Football Operations, Steven Icke.

“While the focus is naturally on the player trades, we have also improved our selections in this year’s National Draft and have welcomed new coaches to the club in the last week, making it a very exciting time for the club. We can now enjoy a break before pre-season training commences in early November"

“We now focus on pre-season training and the upcoming National Draft, where we have improved our position, as we prepare for the 2011 season,”

Thank Gen. .. Was just wondering how many trade after 67 we have. .. the answer is heaps and those last three seem like such huge numbers. .. So would that be Pick 121 - Garlett and Pick 138 - Ellard. .. Will we evenuse 70, 87 and 104??

These numbers could be worse if a club uses their compensation option. ..

We'll only use the first 3. The others will be Rookie upgrades.

I would think.

Hopefully 41 is used on Hartigan ;)

I would think that we will be using four. There would have been no use to trade for pick 67 if we were only going to use three picks?

Maybe. Why did West Coast trade McKinley for 86?

We'll wait and be surprised.

Was probably going to be delisted. They did the right thing and traded him for a rubbish pick so he could get home to vic instead of taking his chances in a draft

Splendini, would it be worthwhile using picks 67 and 70 instead of keeping Hadley/Browne and promoting White?

Clubs can only keep four rookies, so White might have to be promoted.

Promoting White sounds like a good idea to me. .. This will remove the dilemma of having to drop/draft one of our rookies (if we want to keep them all) and White showed enough to warrant an upgrade. ..

Just doing some youtube recruiting and liked the look of darcy barden for maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Can't find much about him elsewhere. Any thoughts from those that might have seen more of him? Cheers

White should be developed into a lead up FF.

Rooster's meteoric rise
Smith, who stands 186.6cm and weighs 75kg, was a standout performer in attack as the Vics won the title.

"He's following in the footsteps of former Sydney Swans captain Brett Kirk, who is the last player I can remember being discovered at the country championships," AFL talent manager Kevin Sheehan told afl.com.au.

Smith then impressed a host of AFL scouts when he took part in the Victorian State Combine screening session for potential draftees, held on the morning of the grand final replay between Collingwood and St Kilda.

His running vertical jump of 89cm put him in the top three per cent of those tested in Melbourne, while his time of 2.88 seconds for the 20m sprint put him in the top five per cent.

He also recorded a score of 14.6 in the arduous beep test, meaning his endurance was in the top 15 per cent.

Just get a few big blokes asap. Seeing bower getting owned by denis-lane, denis-lane ffs, made me want to scratch my eyes out or worse, read thegenerals posts and opinions on yarran.

Reckon we should start with him then. Tall enough, can play defense, attack and ruck...

Worth a punt i reckon. :thumbsu:
