I think it is a bit early to do a mock draft, to many variables make it near impossible. Also Mitchell and Wilson are doubtful IMO to make first round, there is a reason why GC overlooked them.

its sad the top 3 are from wa but there the best so far but things can change i reckon darling might slip like butcher last year

Highly probable. Infact id say that Day is a good chance of going higher than Darling even if Darling has the better carnival.

anyone think tom gordon from oakleigh/vic metro a chance to get picked up?? or more so rookie? or even undrafted?

reckon this is a bit premature- wait until nationals are done and dusted

1 Swallow gc - Midfielder
2 Darling gc - KPF
3 Bennell - Small midfielder/Forward
4 Gaff - Midfielder
5 Day gc - KPF
6 Parker - Goal kicking inside mid
7 Pestia gc - Midfielder
8 Atley - Half back/Midfielder

9 Wilson gc - Medium defender
10 Mitchell - KPF

Just putting it together :thumbsu:

1. Swallow
2. Day
3. Bennell
4. Gaff - Richmond to go best available?
5. Solly - Gold Coast to go for KPP with this pick? At this stage Darling/Cook/Solly are about equal. Solly has had a field day so far in a dominant SA side. I think Solly is ahead though, at 193cm is a bit taller, can go midfield also. Cook at 194cm has good size about him as well. Darling's size (190cm) and drop off in form to see him drop.
6. Prestia in the mix (if West Coast) - may possibly go for someone who can run/break lines. Prestia the most likely at this stage? Others in the mix are Parker, Polec and Atley.
7. Parker
8. Darling -if Melbourne - surely someone to help out Watts. May go with the more developed body of Darling (190cm, 90kg) over Cook (194cm, 80kg)
9. Tape (SA) - Gold Coast to go for a good defender. Wilson also in the mix.
10. Polec (probably Adelaide's pick - local boy Polec)

Quite a deep draft IMO. After the top 10, there will still be gems like Blayne Wilson, Brodie Smith, Green (Tassie), Miles (NT), Lamb, Cripps, Libba, Wallis, Max Otten, Tom Schneider, Ben Jacobs, Lycett, Hallahan & Shane Kerston.

the raps on darling have been much bigger than on butcher so far, surely a guaranteed top 5 no matter how his under 18 championships go on the back of this?

Solly is pretty high on your list. Miles is from NSW/ACT and I am pretty sure he has just been picked up by GWS. Steven May is a very good prospect in my opinion and should go quite high. How do people rate Zak Fitzgerald (SA) and Ben Jacobs (Vic M). Jacobs has had 93 disposals in his last two matches.

Forgive me for my ignorance but can the gold coast still pick up Steven May under some other method other than the national draft? Or is he now in the mix with the rest of those at the end of the year?

May can be picked up by GC outside of the draft as they have acess to the NT zone.

Darling I expect will drop to West Coast's 1st round selection.
Has been a disappointment this season and unless he finishes the season strongly he certainly won't be a top 3 pick like he was expected to be comming into the season.

Day, Cook, Solly and May are certainly all outplaying him as KPP prospects at this stage. No question.
