It depends on what the club consider to be their needs. They say fast midfielders. I also think a KPP up forward and a young developing ruckman might be needed. They are to do a lot of trading so anything's possible. Morton I have doubts about. Everitt is more likely.

Will Veszpremi be traded? I hope he's not watching this, but we've been trying to contact Michael Voss to discuss a possible trade. He seemed more interested in acquiring the services of Ed Barlow, it was weird.
I lol'ed :thumbsu:
Mich Morton is a terrible player we should not want him
Morton is very highly rated by Hardwick, who was playing him in the VFL most of the year to develop him in a new role. He'll be staying at Richmond.

In terms of our trading, we generally only bring in players who will get regular time in the best 22, so I hope we draft a mature age player as KPD depth if we're unlikely to trade for one. I've said several times how concerned I am with the lack of depth here, particularly if Bolton continues to struggle. We basically have Grundy LRT and Richards, then nothing else as I don't think Heath is capable of taking the premier tall forwards.

I don't think anyone here will be complaining if we're active in trade week, after the success of last year.

Are you serious?

You don't think Seaby (26), Mumford (24), Pyke (26) and Currie (21) will be enough to carry our ruck stocks for the next 5 years?

It's just dramatization of what Maxfield said in his interview by making a whole article about it with a big title.

Nothing has changed really and it is just speculation on the part of the article's writer.

Well the Swans are running a story on their Web re-iterating what Stuey said. Surely your own Club wouldn't publicly endorse rumours about their own players if it wasn't an intention of the club to trade him. If we get a deal, Vez is going.

This is the last year he will have any trade value. If he struggles to make the seniors next season we'd get a 3rd rounder for him at best. I think a pick in the 15-25 range or a youngster of similar value should be our aim.

Sorry MF but 3rd rounder is the best we could expect from him in this years trade period!

You reckon?

He was what? Pick 12? He's shown he has more than enough talent to justify that place in the draft but just needs the application. I don't think he's lost that much value. It would be stupid to let him go for anything less than a top 30 pick or equivalent player IMO.

I agree with you completely and that is exactly why we shouldn't trade him

Fair enough. I reckon there could be a couple of teams willing to part with more than a 3rd rounder though. If not, he's worth persisting with for another year. New coach etc might be all he needs.

Rumour is that the only business we will be doing is trading Veszpremi with Richmond looking his likely destination.

Link.

Veszpremi for either Thursfield or Tambling seems likely at this point.

I'm not a fan of tambling, and it seems gong by the rest of that thread that thursfield is going to carlton. I really hope it's not tambling.

I would love Tambling at the Swans :thumbsu:

On Last years form he was fantastic, And I honestly think that we would be able the make the most of his ability.

How old is Tambling at the moment dude? I still have my doubts about him, but if we can get a pick as well as Tambling, it wouldn't be so bad I guess.

Nope, don't like the Tambling idea. Vez could start to fire under a new coach IMO. I say we take the risk and stick with him. He's obviously talented and just needs to find a way to click it into gear. I mean, one more year and 1 of two things can happen IMO:

1. He starts to fire and we've got a very talented player finally living up to his potential

2. He doesn't fire and we trade him next year and get a half decent pick anyway.

Pretty happy with our younger crop now... Just looking at DEF and thinking "jeez Boltz & LRT please stop getting injured... We need someone who can take the #1 tall" (maybe we should be looking at a good promising younger LRT/Boltz clone somewhere??)

Tambling is 24 I believe.

Still time to become a good player and has showed good signs before. Could be good on one wing and Jetta on the other wing.

If only the Swans were interested in Leroy Jetta from the Bombers. :D
