Yep, would relieve alot of pressure if she can get some good results here. Only has 2nd round points to defend. But it's a big big couple of months coming up for Sam, really needs to keep her Fed Cup form up and not lapse into her frequent luls in play. (Actually just realized she lost 1st up to Garbin in Dubai, wow.)

Pretty confident she can atleast get to the 4th round though. Should get past Paszek. Pavlyuchenkova in the 3rd is a danger, but she's backing up from her first title win at Monterrey and wouldn't be surpirsed if she turns up a bit lacklustre, and Zvonareva/Ivanovic in the 4th, both of which aren't in the greatest of form. (Massive match Zvonareva/Ivanovic, loser is going to take a massive tumble down the rankings)

Not sure if anyone is making a tournament thread or not but for the rest of the Aussie girls,

Molik faces Tatjana Malek up first, and possibly Medina Garrigues in the 2nd.

Jelena has Dushevina, if the unbelievable happens and she actually gets a win, Sharapova awaits in the 2nd round.

ATP draw is made tommorow morning.

Ah, didn't realise the draw out already. Sam has actually a decent draw but then again she's seeded 8. If she can at least get to the 4th round to play Zvonareva then it'll be alright. Molik has a winnable first round match but Malek is the type of player that can be frustating, still winnable Alicia. I'm not even going to begin with Jelena

Dokic and Molik are both on tonight. Eurosport wont be showing coverage right? Also Stosur is playing doubles tonight with Nadia Petrova.

Wouldn't be any coverage of the women's into later on in the 2nd week, there tends to be a ton of coverage for the men's event but not much for the womens.

Why are they not showing the WTA Indian Wells matches live on Eurosport?
They are replaying matches when there are live matches going on at the same time:rolleyes:
I think the only match that they showed live was the Sharapova/Zheng match on Monday.

They only show live womens matches on center court, so theres usually only 2-3 matches that they show live a day. They also show skiing/cycling shows between matches.

There seems to bizarre issues with the rights to IW and Miami, I mean the mean ahve 3 courts and all their matches televised while only the centre court women matches get televised, which is weird because they have all what you need to televise them but anyway.

Yeah the coverage from Eurosport as been pretty bad, very unreliable in terms of whether they'll televise matches and if they're live matches. I think they showed the Radwasnka match on court 2 or 3 live the other day, so they can show matches on courts other than centre. Still, it's been nice to have the option of watching a women's match here and there.

Their coverage is awesome for the other events as it was for Paris and Dubai. They'll prove their worth many times this year, IW and Miami and probably Madrid, that's when the issues might occur. Rome and Cinci they should be great because they're stand alone from the men.

There is a few Australians playing in Charleston with Stosur seeded number 4 so she has a bye first up and will most likely play Rybarikova. Rodionova plays King in the first round and Petrova if she can get through that. Sophie Fergurson qualifed and she plays another qualifier Mashona Washington from USA if she can win that one she will play either Oudin or Craybas. Adamczak comes in as a lucky loser and plays Razzano who is the number 11 seed cant really see her getting through that.

Sam should be getting to the quarterfinals comfortably, hopefully she can play well on the clay this season, she can do it, just no mental alpses.

Sophie's qualified for WTA tournaments two weeks in a row and finally a ncie draw so she's a chance of getting a win. Big opportunity for her.

Stosur won her first match on clay for the season 6-3 7-5. :thumbsu:

Yeah, it's kind of got lost after Mon and Soph's good wins. Hope Sam can have a big week here.

Ferguson lost 2-6 4-6. How about this for a result Mchale a qualifier beat Azarenka 2-6 2-2 then Azarenka retired.

From Azarenka's twitter:
"who think i tanked the match or whatever they certainly dont have a ****ing clue what they talking about...and rules of wta tour"

"now from the internet i read some nasty things about me and my match today! specially from my own country! its a shame..so for people"

She ****ing spazed it on twitter. I can understand that she's sick of copping it from the Bellarussian press (they gave it to her after she choked against Serena at the aussie), but I think she needs to stop googling herself. Seems she's a bit agro on and off the court, someone needs to tell her not to go ape on twitter :p. Oh well at least it's amusing.

Sam beaten Hanutchova 6-3 7-6 :D:D

Will fave Zvonareva 5-2 after Wozinacki had to pull out due to an ankle injury

and for those who are interested - Schiavone defeated fellow Italian Vinci 6-1 6-in the final of Barcelona Ladies Open. Nice Work! :thumbsu:
