As far as I can see, neither final tonight is on live. Disappointing.

That's rather ridculous, surprised Eurosport aren't showing the WTA final, that's bad. The men's final isn't going to be too exciting anyway but I would have to say this is one of Sam's biggest matches of her career tonight

Unfortunately Sam lost the final 6-1 in the third, but it's been a great run from her. I think to take a set off Henin on clay also shows she's come a long way and she's definitely in for a good showing at the french. It appears that she was probably a bit spent by the time they got to the third (well that's according to people in the Sam Stosur section of that tennis.com forum, so who knows).

Still a great result. She lost to the best clay courter on the womens tour. Good lead up to the french. Did sam pull out of Rome on the order of play it says her match against Cibulkova is cancelled.

Yeah she's pulled out of Rome. She probably was only gonna play there if she lost in Stuttgart early. Going by form she absolutely has the best chance outside the usual suspects (Henin, S. Williams, Kuznetsova). Then you have to think clay isn't serena's best surface and Kuznetsova hasn't been playing terribly well this year.

Yeah, she seemed out of it by the third set, although it was one topsy turvy match where it hard for either player to keep rythmn. Least the match showed she can match with Henin, can now called a true contender for the French.

Anyone watching Rome? Williams sisters are back, both won in straights.

Hercog was up 6-2, 5-1 match point and lost to Peer. Ivanovic beat Azarenka.

And is Kuznetsova ever going to win another match? Her ranking could take a tumble if she doesn't pick it up for the French.

Ivanovic beat Azarenka.

Maybe she passed the Roland Garros curse onto Kuznetsova, first top 10 win since October 2008.
Will probably be trashed by Dementieva, but hopefully this is the confidence boost she needs. Womens tennis is really missing the star power of her + Sharapova, the sooner they get back the better.

Watched Venus play she actually looked in good from didnt make silly errors like she normally does on clay and she is coming to the net alot more. Great news for tennis fans with Ivanovic getting into some good form i am hoping she can go deep into this tournment and get her ranking up. Stousur pulled out because of an arm injury hopefully it isnt to serious. Alize Cornet and Michelle Lacher De Brito had a marathon match that lasted 2 hours and 46 minitues.

Groth through to the quater finals with a 2-6 6-1 7-5 win. She has a great chance to make it through it to the semis i cant remember who she plays but i dont think she is a well know player on the tour. Hopefully this will push her ranking back into the top 100 and she doesnt have to qualify for the french open. She served for the match at 5-2 and 5-4 so she must have been really nervous. Has she ever made the quaterfinals in a tournment?

This is in Estoril, entry list ahas been made for the french so she won't get in unless a number of withdrawls happen or shes the WC (she might be the only choice at the moment).

Supposedly Azarenka was injuried in her loss to Ivanovic, I'm just hoping this is some sort of form boost for Ana, man it's so rare to see her winning matches again.

Followed it up with a big win over Dementieva 6-1, 7-6(5). Good signs for Ana with Petrova up next, but Dementieva was typically shithouse on serve.

Jelena Jankovic knocks out Venus in the QF's, then Serena in the SF's. Love that. Hopefully Ana can meet her in the Final.

She'll play Martinez Sanchez in the final, beat Ana fairly comfortably.

Bit of controvesory in the JJ and Serena match, both players putting their hand up and JJ not very happy. Supposedly Serena said something I'm not like Justine Henin or something as well. Don't know can't exactly tell and I'm going off all those silly posts on Tennis forum

omg that tennis forum is a loony bin, but I still can't help reading it:p.

Just going back to Groth I think she made 3rd round at the French last year, so she's probably a decent clay courter. And she doesn't often hold serve from a couple of her matches I've seen at AO. Has some good groundstrokes but I'd say she sometimes just tries too much to smash the living suitcase out of the ball every single shot.

Yeah, I've been a member for years, seems to be getting sillier and sillier but just can't help read it, it can be nice for a laugh. But there's actually a real nice Sam base in her forum, so that kind of makes up for it.

Yeah Groth made the 3rd round last year, got a real ncie draw though, she does give the ball a fair whack and that does tend to be her downfall, although there are a few issues in her game including serve and movement as well, she'll probably be the type of player that will get on a hot run once in a while but won't do too much.

Quite a tough draw for Sam.

Here's hoping Martinez Sanchez is very tired. Very tough draw for Sam but if she is a contender, she's got to wint hese matches. The woman's draw is looking a lto more interesting than the men's at the moment. can't eblieve how many people have pulled out of the mens' event and how strong the women's one.

The last couple of months jankovic has returned to the form that took her to the number 1 spot, for a while there last yr in particular she lost her way, Now she is consistently beating the top players again. Her defense when she is playing well is like a brickwall.
