If Wilson was going to be cut, why wouldn't we go to someone like Carlton and try and do a trade like,
Wilson + 28 for pick 22?
Or Freo
Wilson + 23 for pick 20 (Doesn't sound that much, but would mean they wouldn't have 2 picks before us to pounce on the West Aussies in the draft)

Wow - staggered Jordan Jones has been cut - his late season form in the WAFL was outstanding.
Wouldn't be surprised if we rookied him
Edit: re-reading the article - it doesn't sound like the rookie option is there at all.

Here's how I see things now:
IN: Josh Hill, Pick 23, Pick 28, Pick 63
OUT: Brad Ebert (traded), Brett Jones (retired), Callum Wilson (delisted), Jordan Jones (delisted)
Almost certain we'll use pick 63 on upgrading Ashton Hams.
Boring really, but I guess stability is good

That is absolutely staggering.
Jones has shown a bit in the games hes played and his WAFL form as been fine. Razzle Dazzle has shown nothing but being a top notch WAFL player at best.
Unless we are intending to rookie JJ this decision is very perplexing.

Disappointed that these two were let go. Would have thought there was some other dead wood to burn first. I also wonder if they were given as much opportunities in the last three years as Swift, Ebert and Masten have, where they would be now in the club's standing.

If Wilson was cut earlier this month and then Suma going to Freo (I'm sure he knew of the decision), why would they drop down the order of a weak draft when they could pick the guy up for free. I'd say the clubs know more of the other clubs intentions then what people on BF know.

Perhaps Jojo wanted out but we couldn't find a trade for him.
Now he wants to try his luck in the PSD?
Or perhaps he was just the player that was rated the least.
Personally I would've let a few others go well before Jojo but I guess the coaches would know better than I.

maybe we'll look at rookie listing JoJo?
surely his WAFL form should earn him that. you can hardly blame him for not getting a game this year, we hardly got any injuries and most players in the 22 were in good form (bar ebert).
Not sure about dalziell...i think our list has moved on from him. he's not a crab, but we don't need slow outside players who have disposal issues. i suppose he's there as backup.
Wilson i never rated. i think he'll get a shot at another club though. carlton could do worse than rookie list him.
Stevenson has got enough upside to hold onto. needs to really excel in 2012 though.

Wow, pretty disappointed that we're cutting JoJo, hit some good form in the wafl this year and from a few reports had the potential to be a very good AFL player if given real opportunity.
Doesn't seem right that Dalziell will stay on the list yet Jones is gawn.
