WOW all this Stevens talk and now we have a glowing endorsement on the AFL web site about him.

Sounds like we have sorted out his OP and he has got his running power back.:thumbsu: I like how he is running in Shuey's shadow this preseason.:)

Who are our best runners these days, 2 years ago it was Dalziell, Houlihan and Masten. Sounds like Shuey and Stevens are now pushing hard.

Before he was struck down with OP he was used too follow Scully at TAC Cup level, so his impressive performance isn't a total suprise given Scully was pretty much able to burn off everyone at that level.

He also measures at 189cm according to the article and Burns say's he can play forward like Ebo.

This is great news on Koby. He looks leaner. Wouldn't have recognised him by that photo on afl.com.

Ebert leaving could be addition by subtraction. :)

Great inside info there, swannies :thumbsu:

People forget how good he was at U17 and U18 level pre OP - developed it before the U18s Champs. Was considered a top 3-5 midfielder before injury. It's awesome he's slowly getting his dynamic ability back. With his size and strength his ability to bust tackles and have a quick first few steps will be priceless.

Best part of the article:

Watching Stevens train this pre-season, the return of his power and speed over short distances has been obvious.

"He makes a point of bursting away aggressively every time he takes possession of the ball in drills, clearly savouring the return of his speed after two hampered years.

"I didn't feel like I'd recovered from my OP completely until halfway through last year, so it's good to finally get a lot of my speed back," he said.

"When I had OP I was really debilitated with my power, so that's improved out of sight.

"The body's feeling really good and powerful. It's great."

Naitanui Shuey Gaff SSelwood Masten Stevens Sheppard Newman Swift + potentially Darling will be a very solid and dynamic young midfield group.

Was skating through Charles Riley oval in North Beach today and from a couple hundred metres back recognised the locks that could only be associated with Priddis! He was just warming up with some stretches so I took the opportunity to have a quick chat. I asked him how the preseasons been going and he said it's been really tough. And I asked him how the new guys have been going, and he reckons there all a couple years off. I also asked him who's been training the best and he reckons Masten (surprise) and Shuey :)D). Then I wished him a Merry Christmas and headed off. Came by Charles Riley again later to see him running laps at a great speed and he was clearly pushing himself. He was looking in awesome shape! Was really solid and athletic and I found myself being surprised at his size and body shape. Was reppin' a bulging set of ab's and like I said, looked in great shape. Looks like he's in for another big year!

Priddis is indeed looking pretty ripped. Looks bigger and skin folds looking really good. This video shows him close up.

The Eagles have a serious track record of drafting injured young players and backing themselves into turning things around.

Judd - shoulder
Hurn - OP
Waters - OP
Swift - knees
Stevens - OP

What others are there?

Koby was working on his accountability in eagles. I don't see overhead marking as a strength for Koby, but even Masten was true at HFF, so worth a shot. Those quoting Koby's stellar junior career should also.note that Masten and Swift probably surpassed Stevens as juniors. People also forget that at the end Ebo wasn't best 22, do Koby will have to.rely on the fitness of others to get a game.

Not sure whether it qualifies but how about Sampi? More on the mentally injured side. Unfortunately he never got control of that though
