For the first 3 Dogs mids to go by pick 14 and Crossy to slide all the way to 46 is crazy. You could easily make an argument for him as the 2nd best of them all. ...but Barry Hall was a spud of a pick IMO, if only for the fact that he wouldn't be a great compliment for Tippa.

Boyd and Cooney are still well ahead of Cross, but he is certainly underrated, that is for sure. You could mount a case for being ahead of Griffen, but after his 2010, that is now borderline. I have always been a fan of his, but there are more damaging midfielders out there.
 
It's the old Scotty West debate. How do you compare the impact of the inside handballer to the outside runner.

At the very least, Cross had a better 2010 than Coon and Griffen. His courage, consistency and clutch play was all brilliant. Alliteration unintended.

Certainly had a better year than Cooney, but not Griffen. You obviously missed Griffen in finals, was outstanding (also had an amazing season before that, didn't he win their B&F?). Anyway, Cross is an amazing player, no doubting that.
 
Cross is so wiry, he just doesn't look like your typical inside mid. Plus he isn't the greatest kick so he doesn't stand out. Actually finished reasonably comfortably ahead of Boyd in the Bulldogs B&F this year although Boyd made the AA squad ahead of him.

I was very close to picking him but played favourites with Jack.

A good pick up but I reckon Goodes definitely and probably Didak as well were bigger steals this round.

There you go, you can't use the B&F argument because Cross beat your boy Boyd as well lol.

We'll beg to differ on who had a better 2010 then BACCS.

...which makes his courage that much more impressive. We all marvel at the way Danger, Hodge, Bartel etc attack the footy, Well Cross does it with a skinny frame, those others are beasts!

...Ok ok, I shouldn't have compared anyone's attack on the ball to Danger. That's too far.

Very talented midfield and important part of the St.Kilda midfield. Should rack up a lot of disposals again this season as his team aim for their first flag.

Pick 46 - Daniel Cross

Underrated midfield who always gets the job done for his side. Massive work rate and can only see him improving again this year. Supercoach gun.

Jarryd Roughead did not have a great season but he still kicked 50 goals. Anyway i belive he is the CHB Hawthorn have been screaming out for the past few years
 
Pick 52 - Heath Grundy

I feel he is the best CHB left, and thought it was time to start building the defence.:thumbsu: Had a breakthrough year in 2010 after a solid 2009, on track for a very decent career with the Swans.

I would have taken Fisher if you had taken Grundy, so definetley a win win.:p And I let him know it's his last chance to take part in the game, can only hope he responds.

Been going quick?? I have been on here everyday bar the last two days and this game has been going very slow, and to back it up posters have stating that concern not just me. EXCUSE me for been late this once. Now if it's my turn again i will pick a very left field player.

Love his attack on the footy and goal sense. Needs consistency to be a match winner
