Vodafone's being a *** but hey this might go through eventually...

Pick 171: Michael Barlow

Earlier in the year I made the mistake of taking Phill Jones over Kirk Penney in NBL fantasy. Never again! Lol.

Well clearly my team is already good enough for a top 4 berth :p, so having a fit Barlow back for the finals would be massive and complete an already jam- packed midfield.

I wanted Jack Grimes here but I was unsure when someone would take the punt on Barlow.

Rebel selects Joel Patful as his 3rd tall in defence. Big fan.

Pick #174: Jarrad McVeigh

Inconsistent but he is a valued member of the Swans midfield. He likes to kick a few as well which is why I have him lined up on the HFF. Let's hope for my team's sake he can start to break a few tags.

Excitement machine, amazing in contested situations, will be a superstar. Partnered with Kruezer means I have absolutley no concerns about picking two genuine ruckmen even with the sub rule and also means when Bradshaw inevitably injures himself I can rest my ruckmen up forward as capable tall targets

Campbell Brown

Actually forgot about him up till now, probably wouldn't have taken him any earlier but happy to pick him up this late. Can always be counted on to play with courage and passion, can play forward or back and plays taller than he actually is.

Pick #179: Brent Staker

Staker was by far the most successful of Brisbane's 2009 recruits. He fixed up his main problems at West Coast which were consistency and contested marking, and he turned into a very handy contributor for the Lions. Let's see if he backs it up this year.

Pick 180: Rhys Palmer

A good year in 2008 followed by a bad knee injury in 2009 and another injury interpreted year and being part of the horrific injury to Michael Barlow wreaked his 2010 season but he is a much better player than that. Hopefully he can regain his confidence and have a stellar 2011 season.

Palmer over Scully?!?!? Don't rate skills?

Give me a sec for my pick, I wasn't prepared to make 2 today...

Hit me with a PM for rebel's pick if you're on, Kristof.

Rebel picks Matt Priddis.

I pick Todd Goldstein.

I wasn't going to have 2 rucks in my 22 after drafting Brennan but Goldy's too good to pass up here and Hille's fitness is flaky. There aren't too many 22-year-old bigs who put up numbers like him last year and Hille can play a bit up forward so I don't think Todd's surplus.

FWIW, you guys don't have to bother PMing me, I'm only really on here for this draft lately lol.

As for Priddis, I threw his name up for the pick Kristof and I took Luke Ball so I think he's good value here. It's not a real need for rebel, but Martin could always go to a wing. Sculldogg's a bit similar too Power now for my liking.

No worries about the Priddis pick.

Though I was probably picking Goldstein, so I'll need to ponder my pick for a few.

Pick 183: Lindsay Thomas (NM)

Only 23, has a tremendous impact from the small forward position. I need some crumbing x-factor, as there is a lot of marking and long kicking power in my side.

garh
if you didn't take him, he wouldn't of been available for your next pick

I just couldn't pass up my 5th AFL captain, but if Ling wasn't there, Goldstein would of already of been off the board

I'm saying it now, steal of the draft. McIntosh's pre-season has been destroyed, so Goldstein will start the year rucking, and he's too good of a ruck to lose his spot to, even to McIntosh. I wouldn't be suprised if he, along with Sandilands, Jolly and Mumford, are the 4 ruckman to make the All-Australian squad, before Sandilands, and Jolly (if they have 2 ruckman) get the spots

I wanted him last pick, but I wanted Ling more, and I would of taken Goldstein, even at the expense of a half forward flanker, at my last pick

Pick made at 11:something Tuesday night
I guess I can go now.
Just got home, know I'm going defence, so am just gonna take a shot in the dark
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Mitchell Farmer, needed a small back, and at 181 and according to the Richmond website, is skillfull, and fast so should be good and at only 22, he should only improve

ps - this was a 'no ****ing clue pick' so please dont say how crap it is

#187 Tom Scully
Happy with this selection! Averaged 21.5 disposals in 2010 with a high of 39 against the Bulldogs. Not afraid to tackle with 81 in his first year of AFL. Number one draft pick in 2009 will look to bypass the 2nd year blues and add to his impressive first season in the AFL.

Gotta head to work so I'll make my next pick sometime this morning

#188 Scott Stevens
One of the more maligned players at the Crows and will more than likely be their whipping boy for 2011. Stevens is a durable and versatile player who can plug a hole either down back or up forward. His decision making can let him down at times, however he is not afraid to back into a pack and plays the cutout man very well. In the leadership group at the Crows and will fill my third tall void well.

You know, I know exactly what I want right now. But I don't know how to approach the pick

Do I go with who I beleive is the better player (for now)
Or will I go with the kid who has support and he gets stuck with the shit defenders and puts up decent numbers

Do I go with Justin Westhoff knowing he's ok, but can't do shit against anyone decent, and needs to be the #3 forward to go good
Or do I go with Ricky Henderson knowing he's improving fast and could be very dangerous off a HFF with Walker, Knights, Tippett, Porplyzia taking the pressure off him.

In the end, I beleive Henderson will get better stats, and look better in this game come the end of the season, but I really need to decide, if he's a top 21 player (I don't care about the sub)

I think he is. So I'll go Ricky Henderson (ps - From about round 6, I've known Henderson would be the final ingredient to my forward line, assuming he'd drop this far, I just didn't expect Westhoff to drop here, which made me consider my pick - pps - with me taking Henderson, I won't be going near Westhoff anymore [well, unless he's to be an emergency])
