Missus got the BlueRay/DVD/DAKP tin set for me yesterday...$55 from JB HI Fi

Shes a fair mad Collingwood Supporter, so good on her for getting it for me..Must have hurt...no way id have done the same.

Watched with Triple M commentary last night...very informative...some of the things they talk about give so much more perspective than Channel 10.

Id watched it about 20 times before last night but only with Channel 10..so was great to hear commentary about things other than Jollys groin...and Leigh Brown being there to rough up Scarlett...mind you its a bit of a trade off cos G.Lyon bags crap out of Neon...and everyone keeps screaming GET AORUND HIM...and Rex hunt might as well have been dead for the lack of enthausium on some of his calls... but is still so far wayyyyyyyy better commentary than 10.

Example: Stokes giving 50m away against Ball in Q1...was actually Ling holding against Swan and Umpire said that...but no-one picks up on it...TripleM give it to 10 by saying that too.

Am very interested in the other commentary's. Will watch Krock next...will be tops...only cos its biased, but its great fun.

Watched 07 GF 5 times last week with other commentary as I hadnt opened my Victory Pack since 07...but was too tempted by other calls....was some great stuff on there.

Far as im concerned...even Huddo did a crap job in 11 GF Call....

Quaters...well, let me sum it up this way. kracker, kracker, Kracker, KRACKER!!!!

As for Lloyd and Darcy...Who gave them idiots a job....pathetic!!!

Dunno if Tim lane got a to cos I tuned out from him after his Days Of Domination call last year.

Triple M = 7.5
Channel 10 = 5 or 6.

I cant stand Darcy. But Lloyd is excellent. Maybe not in this call, because he needs strength around him. Someone who will challenge him. He has immense knowledge and knows how to share it.

FWIW I still say Huddo was trying way too hard to not be seen as biased.

Sent Sanity an email asking when they expect stock. They said they previously had the item in stock but are now currently out of stock.

Sooooooo, I pre-ordered, but despite having stock they have now run out even though they seemingly haven't sent anything to anyone.

Expecting to receive 'more' stock in 2-10 days...

Maybe they will include a VHS & Beta copy of the game as well.

Their towel slapping biffo routine is just distracting from the game. Can't see how Denis Commetti will fit in alongside them - think he made a bad move going there.

And the Blu Ray situation is pathetic - why should I pay a premium for two discs I already have? Might give Down At Kardinia Park (a DVD which was made in mid 2009 FFS) away as a present if I buy it, and I'm not sure I will. I'll take my chances that they stop being imbeciles and sell it as a standalone.

Well, let's just say they're as biased as ever - enjoyable, but not as much as 2009, most probably because the game just wasn't as close. In fact IMO K-Rock call the Cats win (i.e. game over) earlier than any of the other calls - i.e. after Jimmy's goal.

They get involved in the "GEEEEEE-LOOOONG" chant & IIRC they're the only commentary team to emphasise Scarlo's gestures to the crowd, as well as the fact that the Cats clearly got the rough end of the stick in terms of umpiring decisions (or lack thereof).

For me though, I still prefer to listen to JB & Garry Lyon on MMM - "Get around him"!

Bought the tin set from JB today. Agree it's a joke you can't get just the BD, so hey, I've wasted more money than this. Watching it now.
Going to wait for the Victory pack to drop before I buy it. $90 is too pricey.

Just saw myself after Selwood's 1st QTR goal.

It is pathetic how little, or should I say no real special features on the BD. So many promos they could've included, my favourite being the Roxette one that starts off showing Geelong, followed by the Gladiator 'The Battle' theme. Not to mention the GF parade and other events during finals week.

I also enjoyed the comments about the "tightness of the sphincter". Made me laugh somewhat.

Love the quality of the blu-ray though. Looks fantastic. Can even spot my own head in a wide crowd shot at one point.

Picked up the blu ray yesterday at sanity in geelong. I had ordered it from jb but after waiting a week , i canceled it. The blu ray is so much better than the dvd for quality and the krock commentary is great for cats supporters.

Woo hoo,the blu-ray DVD finally arrived today and I got to watch it.The picture quality is good.
Just one thing I noticed,the Ten logo has been removed from the coverage.Wasn't that on it on the other DVD release when you watched it with radio commentary ?

Yes, I got this from JB HiFi delivered for $44 even though I don't have a Blu Ray yet! It actually surprised me that it had the Grand Final on DVD as well which was an added bonus.

On a side note, of the great GF moments you didn't see on the TV coverage at the time, was after the epic Varcoe goal in the last quarter. He's looking like he's gonna die from being out of breath when Stokes runs up to him all fired up, slaps him on the back and then points to across the ground as if to say 'look you ran all the way from the other end you star!' he then gives Trav a passionate high five.

I don't know how much of it Trav took in but it was great stuff!
