Just spoke to a AFL Umpire who said the talk between all the umpires is the Judd will win the Brownlow. Make of it what u want but im not naming the umpire who told me but i knew who he was as soon as i seen him and i guess most other supporters would as well. So hopefully just before 11pm tonight we will hear Damir say the winner of the 2011 Brownlow Medal is Chris Judd..
Good effort. ;)

Dane Swan wasn't even nominated by Collingwood for the MVP award:eek:

Oh well Murph got robbed a few times with 1 vote games, but the evening out of votes this year means it was more of a team effort in 2011. Can't wait for next year.

Very strange that Juddy missed out against Richmond and Gold Coast. I thought he could've polled a few more but still would've been short. Shocked that Swan won. Seriously has there been a year where everyone has predicted the right winner. Umpires don't have a clue about how to vote. Goodesy had a great year and finished way below the leaders?

Good to see no calls of 'we wuz robbed' in this thread. Hopefully our posters don't go trolling about it either. Swan was one of many worthy players this year so we can not complain.

A few points:

* Swan probably 4th/5th favourite but gets up, getting votes where not expected. Some sense that the umpires have responded to the outrage last year.

* Swan MVP last year, favourite for Brownlow but Judd wins it. Judd MVP this year, favourite for the Brownlow but Swan wins it. I don't think we will come close to the lack of respect many Collingwood fans paid to Judd after last year. Will Carlton fans be retorting in every thread in 2012 'Dane Swan - 3 votes'? Never act without class folks, it comes back to make a hypocrite of you quick smart.

* 7 players received at least one B.O.G. Judd received 25% of our votes only which without checking, I'd say would be his lowest percentage since he joined us. This is the exactly the trend we want to see happening in our side. Our two standout players this year got 45% of our vote.

* Swan got 30% of the Pies votes. Their two standout players got 52% of their vote.
Let it never be said that we are carried by one or two players again.

* Murphy getting eight 1 pointers shows the umpires are noticing but not rating him enough yet. Unlucky. Amazing consistent season though.

This time last year Swan was odds on favourite to win the Brownlow and when he lost the scum where up in arms and all year the ongoing joke in the media has been 3 votes C. Judd.
This year Judd was odds on favourite to win the Brownlow and we are all humble in defeat and we will leave it as the best man won on the day.

Good to see Robbo score a couple of BOGs from the umpires. Just goes to show that being a player who plays the game hard will not preclude you from receiving votes in the Brownlow Medal.

Had a quiet chuckle when Judd got the 3 votes in our second game against Collingwood. That's 2 years in a row he has got the 3 votes in games that Collingwood have won.

Swannie's missus obviously doesn't know much about sport. You need to sit there in that situation. It's about Swanny not about you. Her face is off.

Couldn't agree more, last year after Juddy won they were all up in arms and saying that the Brownlow was a nothing award and no one cares about it and it has no credability, but all of a sudden one of their own wins and they do a complete 360 - typical.

Nothing against Swanny at all winning, thought he deserved it, but god their supporters really shit me.

Absolutely. He cops it from opposition players still, but it shows people close to the game really rate what he does.

Good to see him, Scotland and Simpson get deserved BOGs and Kreuzer also for that one standout game.

No they did a 180. A 360 would have them back where they started.
