Actually ODN, I think that this thread has just about run it's course for the night.

The collingwood numpties are going to come flooding over here to crow about their favorite thug winning the award and Judd losing.

Personally, I think that the Brownlow, as the distributor has said, is a meaningless award these days because it seems that the only person who wins is a midfielder or a utility player.

Maybe the AFL needs to have 3 brownlow medals... for positionals

They have the Coleman medal for the leading goal kicker. They need to have awards for defenders and the ruck division players. Similar to the awards they have in association football (soccer) at the end of the year. Best defender, best midfielder and best forward.

With possibly an overall award for the best player.

Marc Murphy polled in 12 games yet only managed 19 votes. To put it in perspective, only 2 players have polled in more than 12 games since Judd in 2004 (Swan this year and Ablett last year) and nobody managed 12 between 2005-2009.

Very stiff to get as many one votes as he did. The Brisbane game was the glaring one.

I don't mind you distributer usually your posts are pretty good but do you seriously expect us as Carlton supporters to respect Swan? Look at all the disrespect thrown towards Chris Judd especially by Collingwood supporters. Why on earth would we hold back on judging a man who was convicted, caused permanent brain damage to a man and paid $100,000 in damages to the victim, when our captain is constantly attacked for things far less severe than that.
Thanks Nerv, you aren't to bad yourself.

I'm not saying you have to respect him, i'm just saying shouldn't dis-respect him, especialy when he's just won the brownlow, it's your board though, people morals increase by about 90% i reckon as soon as they jump on a forum, everyone (including me) becomes perfect lol.

Two points on that. They won't be silly enough to be disrespectful over here and risk being carded in Grand Final week ... will they? Wouldn't that gesture just highlight the hypocrisy even further?

There is nothing to judge.

It is on public record.

Now is there anything else we can help you with here?

He was charged with 12 offences but only found guilty of affray, what does that tell you? my little brother was charged with affray by just being out with his ******** mates when they decided to have a blew, he did nothing and was charged for just being there.

It's easy to judge mate, perception is reality for the media, Police have said he played a minor role but because he's an AFL footballer he wares the brunt, simple as that, people will often believe what the media tell them to believe.
Gee, you really are in denial aren't you. The victim of the bashing suffered serious permanent injury and was seeking damages last I heard. Sorry, but that is bottom of the gutter character. He would have been sacked from any other Club for that. And remember this is the same guy who recently bragged "I'm too clever for the drug testers".

If I see any more "Dane Swan is such a great bloke/character" I'm gonna puke.

Anyone who beats the shit out of someone severely while they're on the ground pleading for them to stop, deserve no positive recognition to their character. Despite being a wirthy winner, he is scum, pure and simple.
Were you there? Did you see what happened?

Marc Murphy:

Polled in 12 games tonight - to put it in perspective, no one managed that in the 2005-2009 Brownlow counts and only 2 have polled in more than 12 games since 2004.

As far as I know, he is the only player to poll in 12+ games and not finish in the top 5 of the Brownlow under the current system.

When you look at the Herald Sun form guide Juddy really didn't have lots of games where he was expected to poll votes. He just had 6 or 7 games where he was expected to get a possible three votes. Unfortunately this year the umpires didn't give as many to Juddy. I thought Juddy had a great year and was very surprised at where he finished. Wonder if Juddy will have another big year left in the tank to take home another Charlie or will Murphy and co stand in the way? I'd love to see Juddy win another one but I'd like team success more.

This guy was the highlight of the night.

"I like... no, I LOVE Carlton Blues" :thumbsu:
Got my girlfriend, a non footy fan (says she's a Bulldogs fan, but that's because she grew up out that way) to tune in because she likes the sentimental and motivational stuff for the disasters piece. When he did that she burst out laughing and thought it was incredibly cute. She then asked if Carlton had a global reach like that. I told her damn straight so I think HE swayed her some tonight. :thumbsu:

Gonna breed me a family of Bluebaggers. Hopefully as smart as little Perry Lou. :thumbsu: (g/f's Dad's a pies fan (rest of her Dad's side is Carlton, go figure), Mum's a Cat). Hopefully we draft Boseley (her cousin somewhere in there as all Boseley's are related)).

Awesome. :D

This is why dating a mad Carlton supporter is essential - no work to be done!

I'm living the good life. ;)

The test comes after you're married. Before marriage my wife would be always happy to go to Melb for a game. After marriage we still go to Melb for a game but I go on my own while she goes shopping or to a museum.

Then recently for no apparent has re-developed a liking for footy but follows the Swans.

Can anyone figure women out?
