Can't find attendances archived anywhere on the web but Sydney Olympic Park and White City tend to average 6-7,000 a day for World Group DC ties. Kooyong doesn't get anywhere near that.

Um, Kooyong has held two ties since 1987. White City is extinct and Sydney Olympic Park has only had a couple of ties since its opened. Ties are played everywhere now. And you really can't compare attendances when different ties have different players, values etc.

By the way if you think Nadal would be tired after the US Open:

Nadal def. Gasquet 6-3, 6-0, 6-1. Just lulz.

EDIT: Triocki in for Djokovic for the match in Serbia against Nalbandian

He's pissed off that Sydney don't have a GS and never will have one, when Melbourne gets the world's best players. Every. Single. Year.
I don't like footy.

I'm just going by the venues that I personally have attended for World Group ties.

Sydney does still hold the world record crowd for a Davis Cup match.

Nice home ground line call there to set up the break point, then Lleyton hits a lob to break. Aussies up 3-2 in the 2nd set. Stating the obvious but need to win this set.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Fed v Tomic 1st match is going to be good to watch.

Massive TB here for Australia's chances. 1-1 on serve so far. Lleyton has returned extremely well after the 1st set. Swiss now up 4-2 in the tb.

Australia win 2-6 6-4 6-2 7-6

Unbelievable result really. Lleyton played a brilliant match after the first set and completely set this result up.

But do not underestimate Guccione's performance in this match either. Played some great tennis, serving great and very solid at the net. Also improved his return game in the 3rd and 4th set.

Set's it up for a cracking day tomorrow.

Epic tiebreak.

Hamish is so disrespectful in his interviews.

I don't know if you heard the interview he did with Fed yesterday after his win over Hewitt, but it was terrible. After a 3-hour match he is asking him if he could choose any 6 people, dead or alive, who would he have dinner with. Also what other thing does he want to be number 1 in the world in. There were some other stupid questions but I can't recall them now.

Great win. Gooch served so good in the final 3 sets. Some of the best tennis i have seen Hewitt play all year and didnt he love it. Sucks i gotta work all day tomorrow and im going to miss all the singles.

I've got no doubt Hewitt could be a very fine doubles player if he decided to call his singles career quits now. Great result, really, and it is all on Lleyton to beat Wawrinka which he really should do.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!

:D

Is Tomic playing first tomorrow? You'd think that doubles win would give him some confidence to basically play under no pressure.

Also, its a shame Gooch hasn't had a better singles career, definitely has the shots but unfortunately doesn't seem to have the smarts of someone like Lleyton. Hopefully that win gives him a boost though, he seems like a good bloke.

God I love Lleyton, nobody gets fired up for Davis Cup like him, great performance. If he manages to beat Wawrinka, I think I will lose my mind on how good this week ahs been for Australian tennis if he manages to beat Wawrinka tomorrow.

Guccione probably should give up his singles career to concentrate on doubles, Ball should too, they would make more money instead of nothing like right now.

Great result, really, and it is all on Lleyton to beat Wawrinka which he really should do.

There has to be some question mark about how Hewitt backs up for a third 5 set match in 3 days off his injury lay off.

Couldn't believe during the Fed game that Newcombe reckoned the longer it went it would favour Hewitt because Fed had a stop over in Dubai or wherever with connecting flights!

Been out all day.

Cannot believe we won, when I got the score I was in shock! Freaking brilliant win!!! :thumbsu: I hear Lleyton was pretty magnificent.

Tomic has nothing to lose now, he won't win, but it'll be a good experience for him. Lleyton should, fingers crossed, beat Wawrinka. C'mon Lleyts you champion!!
