Brownlow Medallist
I like the sound of Sam Docherty.. Running defender with a very good right boot.

Lets face it, we have holes everywhere as long as we pick up a couple of guns I'll be happy, whether they are attacking defenders, inside/outside midfielders, small forwards, key position.

I wouldn't mind taking a Mid and KPP player at 8 and 12 instead of taking a Flanker like Buntine and than get Brandon Ellis at 30 if he is available.
I'd be stoked with Buntine at 8, a killer mid still remaining at 12 (WHE/Kavanagh/Sumner) and perhaps a solid KPF at 30 (Paine, Dobosz, Kersten etc)... then a Hadley special at 47... maybe Merrett?
Downie, Brewer or Cabrera?Anyone throwing up ideas please at least throw 1 ruckman up to be considered a genuine attempt......... alternatively suggest the 2 ruckman we will need to take in the Rookie Draft as a disclaimer.

Everything evolves around the punt at the moment!!With ruckmen they generally take a while to develop. So if you are going to spend an early draft pick they would want to be good, very good as it could go wrong and investing an early pick, money and time could make it look ugly. A trend is to pick them up later in the draft or rookie them. If they don't turn out, steal another clubs developing ruckman.
Not much interest from the Qld clubs though from what I've heard. Not sure if you can add any more on that front.I'm an unabashed fan of best available, especially with early picks.
On another note, one QLD kid who has crept under the radar is Tom Bell. There was a bit of interest last year but he has taken his game to another level this year and is attracting big interest from a few teams who are entering, or in their premiership 'window'.
Interestingly, for whatever reason, we haven't yet seen Hadley work his drafting magic on a ruck prospect yet. McCulloch was a miss with a very late pick and McCauley didn't work out either.

The only Lions related goss I've heard is us being keen on Hannath, but I think that's hardly a secret.

Well, I hadn't heard it until now.
The Lions certainly have been connected with quite a 20-22yo rucks now. I wonder how many they'll actually pick up?
