It will be interesting if the decision to trade for Lisle impacts on this pick. I am also keen on McInnes but I wonder if we will get this type of player now Lisle looks like joining us. We're not so flush with talls that we can't do with a couple anyway but it will be interesting.

I think we'll end up with Tyson/Wingard and maybe a Kavanagh. Just a gut feel at this stage. Great outcome if it happens!!!

Tyson/Wingard and Kavanagh would be....stunning. Our midfield would just about be set long term.

Though on needs, if Elton was available at 12 I would probably snap him up. Exciting whichever way if falls out (especially if Hadley befuddles us and picks none of the above).
 
Its interesting that this year's draftees smashed it at draft camp (the beep test at least) yet it is considered a weak draft. From memory Steele Sidebottom was the best in 2008 (imo a very strong draft) and he would have finished well outside the top 10 this year.

I suspect that many players now spend the rest of the season after the u/18 champs preparing for the draft combine. More tailored training = improved results.

Obviously a superficial measure, but Elton's championship highlights are pretty uninspiring.

In fact Tomlinson is rated as a better tall by many commentators, including Emma Quayle. I like Frost and McInnes better as prospects.

but seriously if your going to be an "expert" at least see the players play live and not on youtube or hilights

It is hard to watch potential draftees live when they come from so many different states and we live in a big country. Gotta make use of 2nd hand info sometimes.

Really have no idea who will be available come our picks but considering our weaknesses are across the board we should take the best players on offer really regardless. Depending how it's shaping I'd be more conscious of positional needs with the rest of our picks.
 
Out of all the states I watch footy in Queensland is not one of them, Although Mitch Brewer I would take with a rookie spot. I have footage of him(I have not seen him live) but for a 204cm Ruckman/Forward he is a good kick, Takes marks, knows what's around him, uses his body well, puts pressure on opponents and tackles extremely well. He is a QLD boy we should at least rookie him. Him and Ben Brown are who we are apparently interested in.
 
Am i the only one who thinks we should draft Buntine and Kersten with our first two picks if WHE is taken.

Our half back stocks are pretty low when you've got mcgrath playing hff, drummond been injured, hanley/adcock moving to the wing. Buntine could easily play in the first round and is a massive talent.

Re Kersten. He's clearly the second best forward in the draft behind Patton and we need a big power forward. No brainier.

Pick 8 we need some speed, Pick 12 someone tall, I think Kersten is a gun but I don't think he will be able to play a KPF role in AFL. I have seen him twice one game his was not all that good but in the other he was brilliant. I would be going Elton or Talia at #12.
 
Here is some interesting food for thought on GWS picking up Elton .... he was passed over as one of the 12 x 17 year olds. They passed on him although they did show some initial interest.

Anyone seen Julian Dobosz play live? His video looks pretty damm good and most boards have him going around the 30 mark or more

Love Toby but is he worth pick 12? Would have though his range would be 15-20.

Would take Doboszin a heartbeat if he's available with our 29-34 picks.

edit - looks really similar to how Tippett plays.
 
Assuming the Lisle & Hudson trades happen, I think gaining these two players allows us to target talent as opposed to addressing needs. If Hadley & co. rate a tall at our pick all the better, but IMO the addition of these two big blokes allows us to go best available, at least with 8 & 12.

my bad he was not exactly poor, Did some good things but did not have much of an impact.

I seen him play live, my favourite of the draft even thought I have only seen him a couple of times.

Just reminding you all, and hinting at something deeper. I think that Elton is worth a late first - early second round pick. He has not come on and developed great this year, had good patches in games, and has dominated some games, yet far outweighed by the times he goes missing, sometimes for whole games. I have major question marks on him, and as far as KPP go I would prefer Frost or Kersten, among others.

Agree, He needs to become consistent. He has the potential to become a star.

Probably Agree. Would consider Talia with pick 12 though but not sure.

Pick 88 for Mckeever upgrade. What about pick69? PSD? Golby upgrade?
