Kersten at 12, or Dobocz? at 30. How do you in the know rate the 2 in a head to head comparison?
As to a ruckman - pick47. Mitch Brewer or Tom Downie?
Mitch Brewer, He would be ready to play if needed.

It's interesting, because the feeling i get from the club is that (and i'm pretty sure it mentioned this in Kerr's review) we will use upto pick 47, yet we wanted a high pick for Clark because we don't really rate the depth beyond about 15, atleast not in getting great players. I would assume 47 will be a project tall, either ruck or ruck/forward, depending on who is left. It was also mentioned that we didn't rate the talls in the draft, atleast not around the 30 mark, which is why we were happy to pay 29 for Lisle, so you would assume we will go small with 30. That leaves 8 and 12, and i think we will go pretty much best available, but will try for another tall. Now who we pick there might depend on who we rate, whether that be Kersen or Elton or someone else. It's hard as past about 15 or 20, people start rating players very differently, so it's hard to tell if someone like Kersen we view as a top 15 player, or someone we expected to be available at 30 still, and as such would rather Lisle over.
With only 2 clubs ahead of us in draft day, it's still hard to work out what kind of player will be at 8, because GWS could do anything.

True but I think that the trend is towards taller players all over the ground. We're seeing tall players with phenomenal athleticism. There is absolutely still a place for the slightly undersized marking forward but they would want to be exceptional in other parts of the game.
Perhaps Darling is the forefront of the trend turning back to marking forwards of a variety of sizes. I suspect that it is more likely that Darling is going to be the exception rather than the rule. Therefore, whilst not completely determinative, height for a KPP is going to be a factor in the recruitment decision. As I said, the player needs to have lots of other strings to their bow if they are giving up a couple of inches in height to their rivals.
Fourth chance lucky?![]()
Ive heard Toby Green mentioned on a few occasions as being linked to Brisbane? Anyone? Thoughts?
Seems a good prospect but I don't know if he adds anything new to our midfield mix.
Very inside, much like Harwood, Redden, Bartlett and Josh Green... I think we need to find more second-possession types to run, carry and deliver.

Couldn't agree more. The Hoskin-Elliot one looks nice.
I do agree with you but Hadley might not rate the players of these types in this draft.
O'hailpin for rookie or preseason draft? Would provide decent cover for Merrett which we were horribly exposed to when he got injured this year.
Also, might albert proud be in the running for a rookie this year? Seemed to have paid his dues.
I agree with this one. We could certainly do a lot worse I think.I'm on the Daniel Currie bandwaggon.
I haven't done my write up on him yet but I am not particularly high on Paine. I just struggle to see him making it as a forward in the AFL and he lacks a bit of the agility I want in a KPD. He can take a pretty good mark but is not that great a mover. He will work hard for you and chase defensively but I don't see him being able to kick enough goals against AFL standard defenders to warrant a spot. Patton got the number one defender and most of the attention allowing Paine a much easier run and yet he really didn't take that much of an advantage of it. I see him going 20-30.I like the look of Paine, perhaps at 12. Thoughts on him?
WHE was always going to go well in the endurance stuff but he didn't appear in any of the other top 10s. I am going to be interested to see his speed results. Everyone seems to assume he has great speed but there have been a few times watching him where I have questioned whether he really does have that good pace. Seeing what he timed at is going to be interesting for me. I also wouldn't mind knowing his kicking and clean hands results although I don't usually get those. If we're talking hypotheticals, he may not rate Greene either.
BPL: I badly hope WHE slides to us, but after his draft camp performance, it seems less likely.![]()
Came third in the Vultures' B&F from what I've heard. I'd be interested in why he didn't win it. Given his talent as a footballer, I'd expect him to win the B&F at pretty much any State league club. Third is a good result but not totally convincing. By way of comparison, I think Zorko has won 3 or 4 in a row at Broady.
On Proud though, there is no rush. If he demonstrates another year or two of emotional maturity in the NEAFL and continues to progress as a footballer, we could always have another look at him down the line.

That, to me, rules him out. He's either dedicated to a career in footy or he is not. He's not got the greatest engine at the best of times but if he wasn't fit enough to run out games at NEAFL level (and he's always struggled to do the same at AFL level), then I'm not inclined to take the punt.Largely because of his aforementioned unfitness. Was able to do great things but not for the whole game. On and off the bench or not having an impact on the field too often to win it.
