Just mentioning with regards to Port Peter Rhode was interviewed last night on radio. They speculated about pick 6 and Wingard and the first thing he said was 'it would be nice if he was available but there are also some good options here including a promising ruckman'
IMO Port will either take Wingard, then Longer. If both are unavailable who knows?

No doubt they will snap up Wingard if he makes it to 6 which is very unlikely in my opinion. Pretty clear that these 2 players as well as Coniglio and Patton will be gone by our pick at least. Not too sure about the others.

More to do with next year's draft but has anyone seen Clay Cameron from Mt Gravatt? I saw him in a game late in the year and he kicked four on Aspley's best defender I believe. Won the rising star nomination for that game as well. Seems to have the height, awareness and skill necessary to be a forward. Might need to bulk up a little, but has great accuracy in front of goals as well. I don't know too much about him, though, apart from the two games I saw, but all the talk about him I've heard is that he'll be a gun and definitely be drafted.

Does anyone else have a feeling that 47 might be used for Mitch Brewer from Broadbeach.

Would seem a good fit a 19 yo Ruckman from QLD, late joiner to the game as well.

Would be a good choice,In his fifth season of AFL, 19 years of age, 204cm(still growing), 115kg.

He uses his body well, a very good kick for a big man, can take a mark, puts pressure on opponents and tackles well, Can play forward. And he is a QLD boy.

Several phantom drafters have suggested we've been linked with Brewer.

Certain to be taken by GC as a priority selection next year in the last year of that concession.

My opinion that they will take him. The kid looks very good.

Its a fact that they get first crack at him next year like they did with Yagmoor this year.

I haven't seen or heard much from him in years, but played in his team at the Vultures from under 8's through to 14's. Scary thing is, he wasn't even in the best in our squad. A kid called Tyrone Brimble was, but I haven't heard a thing about him so who knows what's happened there.

From what I saw of Clay this year, though, he did look great. Would love for us to pick him up next year if possible.

Tom Sundberg, From collingwood's VFL.

We are up to our necks with this one, however our position may have changed due to his recent shoulder injury that made him miss testing at the combine.

If he's available with one of our later picks, don't be surprised if we grab him.

Freakishly athletic kid... Played rugby at St Peters (I think?) for a few years while I was scouting for QRU. :thumbsu: Didn't know he played AFL. Don't know what's happened to him since then, but wouldn't be surprised to see his name pop up sometime in future.

Article on the players likely to be around for our pick from The Age.

Monster forward Jonathon Patton, midfielders Stephen Coniglio and Dom Tyson and defender Matthew Buntine appear likely top-five picks, while the Giants may choose ruckman Billy Longer in the top five to keep him out of Port Adelaide's clutches.

Onballers Chad Wingard, Will Hoskin-Elliott and Toby Greene also appear in top eight or 10 contention, with the likes of onballers Liam Sumner, Elliott Kavanagh and Devon Smith, talls Adam Tomlinson, Shane Kersten and Nic Haynes and running back Sam Docherty also around the top 12-14 mark.

Yeah he won us many games on his own. Along with Clay, we didn't lose very much back then. He's still on Mt Gravatt's list apparently, nearly played an NEAFL game this year. I reckon he could definitely make it if he tried hard enough, but from what I just heard from a friend who kind of knows him, he may have a few attitude problems.

As for Clay, though, I think he'll definitely be one to keep an eye on in the NEAFL season next year.
