I agree but the player has to be a good enough forward to hold a KPP position down 80% of the time.If things happen and there is a good forward/ruck to be taken with our first pick, then we should go it.

Yeah, would be nice! I am a big fan of both. In fact, I'd offer our pick 8 for either of them without thinking twice....and I don't think it would be enough (maybe for Vardy)Unearthing a Sam Reid or a Nathan Vardy with a second round pick would be amazing.

Getting a good big man after the first round in the draft is a godsend in terms of list development. It doesn't happen all that often but with KPPs still the most vital on the park, if you can get a good un with a 2nd round or later, it sets your list up for 10 years. Cloke (obviously F/S) and Dawes are a case in point, allowing Collingwood to develop their pick 8 KPP as a centre half back.

in this day and age the difference between the good and shit teams is their midfield and brisbane still have a way to go
tankton are the perfect example awesome midfield is the only reason they finished 5th without judd, murphy, squibbs etc etc they wuld be where they belong the bottom
rockliff, redden, rich are all going to be stars, when brisbane are real finals contenders, you watch how good these kids are, amazing that there not even 21
we have so many midfielders on our list, all me need is a key forward/ back up ruckman
you need more than 3 players in a midfield. You look at the top teams and they have 9-10 guys who can rotate through their midfield. We still don't have the depth in the midfield to meet those numbers.

What would be the key attributes we need in a KPF now-days and in five years (i.e how will the game change in five years):
Size, Speed & Agility, Endurance, Contested Marking, Field Kicking, Goal Kicking, Aggression, Footy Smarts, Tackling/Forward Pressure, Work Rate, Club man.
Not easy to pick up a ready made player with those attributes. I think this why tall project players are necessary. If we can find a tall that is athletically very good, can kick, competitive and is hard would be the attributes I would be looking for in a project player. Take Niall McKeever - athletically very good, hard, and competitive but question mark over his kicking. He is making progress.

Is this O'Meara as good as being made out? Can tell a lot of Bigfooty people are saying they want him so bad just because of third hand information.
If anyone's seen him live, what's the fuss about?
he's mocked to be the number 1 draft pick in 2013.

can i see some youtube footage of this WHE lad?
I think we should target WHE with pick 8 and go tall next. I can imagine the talent and pace of him, polec and bartlett running and breaking lines through the middle.
